Yeah, it sucks. And with all other brands not being reliable in some way besides Honda, it sucks when there’s no variety in reliability. It’s like other car companies basically don’t exist at all because of how bad they are. Other car companies really have to start focusing on reliability, or competition in a segment like this is going to make dealerships keep on pushing markups knowing very well that cars like the GR Corolla are gonna be the only thing people like us are going to want to be with the reliability image and all. Also, bad news, VW just announced they’re not going to make a new ICE engine for the next gen Golf, meaning that the current gen Golf will be the last Golf with an ICE engine. At this point we’re gonna have to start getting into urbanism and promote infrastructure that reduces car-dependency. If we promote bicycle-centric infrastructure like how it is in the Netherlands, at least we don’t have to pay a whole year’s salary worth of cash for something that gets us from point a to point b. (If you’re worried about snow and temperature with bicycle commuting, look up Oulu, Finland bicycling). I’m not saying that we should ban the car outright, but rather we should reduce the number of drivers on the road so that people who actually want to drive can drive without having to worry about bad drivers. Also watch a channel called Not Just Bikes. It’s a huge eye opener as a car enthusiast.
