I currently drive a 2020 Arteon SE in Urano Gray/Black interior and LUV IT!.... Even today I am still asked... "What kind of car is that?".... This is my third Volkswagen!

Great review! Discontinuing this model would be really unfortunate. Even in it’s highest trim, it’s thousands less than many similarly equipped competitors.

I agree, it’s a shame. I plan on getting one early 2024 if I can still find them. I have a 2015 GTI and it has the previous EA888 engine version to this one. Been working on that engine for 9 years so I’m glad this will have something I’m familiar with

If it would have done numbers. VW wouldn't be discontinuing it. Me personally I like it. If I still liked riding low to the ground. I would go for it. Now being 43. I want to sit high with space. I have a Tiguan R line Black.

I just picked up a 22 r-line non-premium 4motion 2 weeks ago. It had 4500 miles on it for 37k before down payment. I can see $48-50k new being a bit of a reach for "just a VW" but slightly used at the price I got it I think they are a great value!

From my understanding 2024 is last model . Really like this car. It amazes me how fast and practical this car is. It’s actually faster than a 60 rs. Beats it by a second in 0 to 60 and quarter mile is close only 0.01 difference. But this car is over 20 grand cheaper and way more practical. Huge cargo space and plenty of room in the back seat. It’s hard to find a car that’s sporty and enough room. Plus you’ll have that unique factor cause you really don’t see these on the road.

@@HawkeyeRides I spoke directly to Volkswagen cause I read some articles stating 2023 was last year and others said 2024. So decided to speak to the main source cause I wanted to hear it from the horses mouth. In U.S market last model year is 2023.

The 4motion does add some extra weight but the increase of extra power helps (from 2022 32hp and 37 lb-ft).

It's the 4000 rpm AWD launch control mode. Definitely does not do mid 4's without it.

You might feel its a performance sedan, but its the brakes that gives it away. They're sufficient, but they can't match the stopping power of the Brembos you get on a true performance vehicle.

Here is a good example to explain brakes: 2023 BMW m340i base curb weight: 3988, 70-0 braking with 4piston brembos around 155-160 feet 2023 VW Arteon base curb weight 3913 ( 75lbs lighter [the rotors are about 10-13lbs lighter on all 4 sides] which is 40-52lbs less weight) so it’s very close the BMW, 70-0 175-180 feet. Around 20 feet less stopping distance but about 500-750 dollars cheaper and you do not need to change them as much. VW still packs just as much value in the total package 👍

Goapr software on my 2019 fixes the power, and far more than the 32 extra in 2023. Expect to run through a set of those 20" continentals. They are garbage. Replaced with NEXEN NFERA SUPREME, and so far good.

No way it’s 0-60 is 4.6 sec, more like 5.1 which is still very good.

It really is that fast as VW upped the performance sadly it’s a hidden sports car that is disconnected 👍

@@HawkeyeRides I really like them but my issues are price, performance on the previous version, and that screen looks small for the space. Dove the 268hp and it was slow. I haven’t tested the 300hp yet.

@@Jimmyjam33 drive it first the power increase you will notice it and I would wait as the pricing has went down a little off msrp. Because VW doesn’t advertise the Arteon when dealerships get them they hang out for a few months before they sell, use that as leverage. The longer it is on the lot the more they will discount and buy at the end of the quarter. Keep us updated with you choice

4000rpm launch control. Real pummels the transmission but get's it there in under 5 for me.
