Looking good Frank! Keep up the training for it will help you tremendously when you begin your adventure. Fall time is the best time to hike.

@pattownsend Hi buddy!! I really appreciate the encouragement! As I write this, I'm sitting in my office at the data center and 1/2 way to my regular training grounds. Next week when I stop into the office, I think I'll bring my gear and do a night hike on the mountain IF there's no snow makers running. Peace my friend!! 😎👍✌

@synikalhuman2875 Love your channel name, very original!! I do appreciate you following alone on my journey. I'm inviting all of my subscribers to stay in touch with me during my journey. Questions and comments are always welcome with me. It took me 2 years of planning, a 5 month leave from my office, and at least a year of training, gear decisions and testing to get to this point. I'll be doing a Gear List video soon and I'll post links to all of the gear. Feel free to use it as a starter list if you need!! Talk about small world! I walk Basil about 3 times a week and I see that your up off of Latta Rd. I am also 71 years old and live probably 3 miles from you!

You will love your Arms of Andes base layers. I hope you get them quicker than I did though - it took me over a year to get my base layer pants, and they had charged my card when I placed the order. If you don't get them, keep following up. I did, and finally got them a week ago after having ordered them in October 2022.

Hello!! Thank you for following my journey!! I do have good news from Arm of Andes. I have 2 of 3 items I ordered and spoke w/ their North American contact who is trying to get my 3rd item shipped out before the end of the year. The 2 items I have, upper and lower mid layers, are very comfortable and work as expected. Hope to chat w/ you while I'm out on the trail!! Peace!

Glad to hear you are bouncing back. It's my turn to get this junk! Folks all around me getting it, so it's my turn, not sure why I need a turn? Then I gave it to my Wife, didn't want to leaver her out! Yeah, I know, not funny. Good looking walking area! Have you picked a date yet? If so you may have said already? Good Lord willing, we'll be watching. 73 and God Bless, old timer! ( I don't get to say that to too many people anymore! lol )

@@runningonempty959 Hey Tony! I appreciate that offer, but I'm working up to 5 days before I depart and my last day before departure is dedicated to my greatest fan, my wife. If your using the FarOut app, we can figure out a coffee or food break on the trail. A food break w/ the guy called Fresh Ground would be fun. What do you think? Peace 😎👍✌

@frankdotyjr OK. Yes, I've got the app. I'm in amicalola falls February 24-27. NOBO the 27th. Currently doing 25 to 30+ miles a week in and around SNP, massanutten trails, AT . just happen to have theses trails available. Also, tweaking gear for sustainable carrying weight 25-30 lbs while doing local trails with 500 to 3200+ elevation. BTW, turning 75 in August. Stay in touch. Tony
