Both trucks are all new for 2024. Refreshed interior and exterior and GM has provided both trucks with a new trim level that is done up by the company AEV. AEV is known for serious off road capable vehicles and modifications but are also hiqh quality designs. GM is making a truck that is very capable off road in the HD truck segment with this.

There are a few more options included as standard on the GMC that you have to add to the Silverado for this to be an apples to apples comparison. The 5th wheel and gooseneck prep package, sunroof, tech package with HUD, etc. If you actually line up all the options as close as possible, then I think the difference is more like $4,000 more for the GMC. If you don't love all the extra options that come as standard on the GMC, then the Chevy is definitely the way to go. But, that has been the typical difference between GMC and Chevy. GMC offers a few additional options as standard and slightly higher quality finishes. I've never owned a GMC, I have currently have a Silverado ZR2, but the AT4X does look amazing and I'm seriously considering it for my next truck.

Just priced out a GMC 2500HD AT4X AEV and a Chevrolet 2500HD ZR2. Passed on the GMC because they forced the sunroof. Not an option but standard. So I'll be going with the Chevrolet HD ZR2.

I like the interior on the GMC better but for 13k more I’m out….wouldn’t want the sunroof and the trailer brake controller is nicer mounted up on the dash in the ZR2. The buttons for parking sensors/exhaust brake/and all windows down are switched with the physical temperature controls on both models. I like them on the ZR2. That space you get with the trailer brake control being mounted on the dash is larger on the ZR2. Rounded wheels look better, wheels all blacked out are better and no reflectors at the top of the wheel wells look better. ZR2 for the win

Wow.. 13k is quite the difference. Thanks for the post. I was going to log on to build one with the gas version to see the comparison. 91 to 104k is absolute insanity. But the trucks both look amazing,

I'm a big ZR2 fan, and have been for decades (even had a S10 ZR2), but these 2500 ZR2 trucks dont get me hard like the others. It's just too damn big and GM didn't even bother putting on a front locker like a true ZR2 is supposed to be. I wish they would've given it the Power Wagon treatment, instead of sorta half assing it. In my opinion, the most capable ZR2 is the Colorado ZR2/Bison. Silverado has lockers, but is sitting on 33's for some reason and 2500 is missing the front locker with a wide open diff..

Awesome video highlighting the price differences between the Chevy version and GMC. I rember reading the press release when pricing was first announced and even the starting prices with the Gas V8's and no Diesel engine added, I picked up on the huge Starting Price difference between Chevy to GMC! I remember looking at the starting price of each truck with the Gas V8's on the build and price and thinking, why the heck is there a $10,000 gap between both trucks, both with Gas V8's for just the differenec in brands from Chevy to GMC. I think it's GM's way of marketing GMC as the "premium" option even though besides exterior and interior styling, there are no mechanical differeneces between ZR2 Vs. AT4X to my knowledge.

I couldn't find a 13% difference...plus the sunroof was a deal breaker on the GMC. Sunroofs just don't belong on HD pickups. At the very least make it a stand alone option on all trim levels. I will agree though that the GMC does look better. But not 13,000.00 better.

@@XploreAz Just the work environment that are in. Or, suppose to be in. Potential leak point. Failures. Just the thought of glass over my head in a possible accident. Rather spend that 1000 or so dollars on other options. Just my opinion.

I love the Sierra but do I love it $13K more? Probably not lol. I like the sunroof cuz it gives the interior a little more light. Every vehicle I've owned has a sunroof or a full panoramic moonroof. Idk. $13K difference is a lot for basically the same truck. Maybe if the Sierra has a front locker of something that's comparable with the Power Wagon, plus a winch standard from factory then maybe the price difference can start to make sense. Most people who buy these trucks will never take them off-road anyways so I guess that's not necessary lol. Can't wait to start seeing the trucks filling up at Starbucks parking lots!

I have been trying to find some info about this locker...I didnt see anything saying the GMC had that and the Silverado didnt.

@@CTECH-REVIEW Yeah I was just joking about that 😅. Both the Chevy and Sierra have IFS I think, not solid front axle like the Power Wagon so it's kinda pointless to have a front locker. I actually prefer it that way since IFS doesn't wander around too much on the highway. How are you liking the Tremor so far? I'm leaning more and more towards the 2500 HD ZR2 but the one thing it doesn't have over the Tremor is lane centering. Makes a big difference on long road trips haha. But suspension wise, ZR2 has those off-road multimatics vs. Ford Tremor only has a beefed-up suspension from other F250/350s. Nothing special about them. I plan to build my truck to be a dedicated adventure camper so capability is a must. What do you think of the Tremor?

Love the zr2 look but the neon green piping on the inside sucks. Since I sit inside the truck more than looking at it from outside and I sit most of the time the at4x with massage seats and better interior another GMC hd for me
