Would your money go to the new E-Ray, or is the Z06 still more alluring?

Awesome new vette. I have a long standing reservation for a c8 z06 but if I could get the Eray I’d buy that. I’m currently daily driving my c8 z51 fe4 for the past couple of years. The new Eray is awesome.

C8 series is the best series cars in modern times including the 992 911 series, Huracan series, 458 series including Tributo and 718 series cars.

Standard carbon ceramic brakes, magnetic selective ride control, heads up display, AWD, faster to 60 than the z06, stealth mode… I’m definitely buying one!

I bet you the ZR1 will have the Z06 flat crank engine of 676 hp and the E ray electric motors putting it in the 800hp class with all wheel drive. The Zora will be all electric with all wheel drive giving it 1000hp which is insane

Wow man, it powerslid through that 180 turn with such control it looked very reassuring whereas previous vettes would love to spin once they loose grip. This platform is amazing and 2.5 to 60.. not many will keep up with that on the street with the front pulling. I’m torn because of my conventional V8 gas only mindedness but I’d say if I drove the hybrid after driving the base Vette I would appreciate the difference and no doubt that front pulling would help in rain or low traction situations. I feel old and set in my ways lol at 46 years old. Cheers ✌🏼

The 911 now starts at $104k (base 2wd), so think about that.... Winter tires are going to be tricky. This is the technology that needs to be applied to every single car/truck on the market. Regardless of engine size, the ice can be supplemented by an electric motor (of varying sizes of course) so that the two compliment each other. School zone: electric motor. Crawling in traffic: electric motor. First and last miles of your journey: electric motor. Store parking lots: electric motor. Use the power of an electric motor to reduce the use of an ICE; key word being "reduce".

What I'm so happy about this Corvette is that GM didn't step follow what everyone else is doing which is turning it into a crossover (SUV) like the Mach-e and didn't neither made it full electric....I've been talking for the longest time with my friends about an all wheel drive Corvette and now it happened, not that I can afford it but I'm glad still

I think your wrong about the weight difference, i heard from Chevrolet that the 300 lb. difference is between the base C8 and E-ray.

Does Chevy have another model after the Eray? The Zora maybe? With the flat-plane crankshaft engine combined with the electric motor of the Eray. For a total HP output of 830

So what we can expect for the zr1 is a hybrid flat plane crank monster that is either naturally aspirated or forced induction. And possible more electric power

This reminds me of how the modern NSX works, and that car for all its faults drives wonderfully. If they got it right, I might consider buying one. Oh, and I dislike the electric noise a lot.

Can’t wait to see the new ZR1 and Zora. Probably for everyday heathenism the E-Ray would be a better choice, but if doing track days or running “The Dragon” are on the menu, then the Z06 is the correct weapon. Chevy finally has the nuances in harmony with the drivetrain. The C7 ZR1 will be one of those cars that will hold value and a sweet spot because it returned to the “if you aren’t paying attention, I’m going to kill you mode” like a Viper ACR or a Cobra, early mid-engine Lambs

I know this is an insane question, but, what is the mpg on this thing considering that it is a hybrid. I mean I know that it's probably not a concern at all because if you can afford this car then you're probably not thinking too much about gas, however, I am still curious as to what the mpg is in comparison to the other models

When come to testing, I surely would like Edmounds to test this vette in rain (not drizzle rain). Regular vette can't survive car wash (vents on the rear panels leak water into engine bay). Would be even worst case scenario for electrified awd vette.

Why don't they install covers for the brake drum to cover and hide the drums which look rusty from weather and wear after sitting a few days?🤔

WHY NOT A PLUG-IN? The new Lambo Revuelto has a 3kw battery, the Ferra 296 has 7kw & the Mclaren Artura has 6kw and all are plug-in. Gm should give that, at least as an option.

The price and straight-line performance of this car is so similar to the Z06, I'm not sure of its purpose. Who is the target audience that would sacrifice that incredible Z06 engine for this hybrid?

340 lbs heavier, does not have carbon flash trim, no high wing available, nearly the same price as the Z06. I like it but it should have been close to $10,000 cheaper. OK, now tell us about the ZR1...have a feeling that one is going to be an additional $45,000...plus, maybe. Why don't they offer blue calipers?

The added weight, complexity, and maintenance issues never seem worth it, especially when the z07 performs so well. A fully electric version would be more interesting.

What happens if we switch over to electric cars and one of many enemy countries sets off a nuclear bomb high in our atmosphere above the United States? What it means is we are all stranded because there would be no way to charge the vast majority of cars after our grids are shut down by the magnetic pulse. What we need to do is revert to hybrids and to also utilize old tech of the sixties that are not affected by electro-magnetic pulse weapons. We also need to build a dozen or more new oil refineries, open all oil fields and get gas prices back down to 2 dollars a gallon. Then we levy a 30 cent tax on each gallon and use the proceeds to build the infrastructure for hydrogen powered and electric powered vehicles. Once the infrastructure is in place and all its solar, wind and tidal power systems are in place, we can expect to pay about 2 dollars a gallon for a very environmentally friendly, never ending source of energy. We extract it from salt water. We also freeze the price of oil at 45 dollars a barrel and add in cost of living increases to it on an annual basis. Before it reaches 80 dollars a barrel, we will be very close to completing said infrastructure. This will probably take around thirty years to complete, then we start the process all over again with a complete rebuild of said infrastructure, but in the mean time we keep the system properly maintained. All of which equals jobs, jobs, jobs and more jobs, cheap energy, energy independence, no need to go to war over oil, a very healthy environment and a very good quality of life for all Americans. We and Japan, which is already on this path, act as examples for the world to follow. We also need to convince auto manufactures to manufacture inexpensive micro hybrids for in and around city driving, that get 80 miles to the gallon and can reach top speeds of 75 and all come with a bank of capacitors for quick on demand passing power. And again, use old tech ignition systems or hardened systems not affected by electromagnetic pulse weapons. And last of all, we need to take huge steps not to buy Chinese products. The intentions of the Chinese government is not good for world peace. If we deprive them of our money, they will not be able to afford to wage war. In the end, fossil fuels will still be around, but with reduced consumption down by 80% or more. And we do this without hurting ourselves and our economy in the process.
