It would be nice to see Ottawa or Montreal win it. They have some good, young players and it would be nice to see them succeed. Having said that, there will be busts in this draft there's a possibility that someone drafting around the 10th spot could end up with someone who could develop into an elite player and some of the higher picks could flounder. You just never know when you're dealing with 18 and 19 year olds, especially guys who are 2-4 years away from becoming full time NHLers. A lot can happen in that time. Some guys don't stop growing until they're 20 and in that time, they get a lot stronger and suddenly they're impact players at the highest level. As much as the Canucks botched the Juolevi draft, Olli was considered by some (though not many) to have a Nic Lidstrom type of ceiling. But between injuries, COVID and just not being able to reach anywhere near his potential, it never happened for him. You just never know with guys this young.

Honest question: you can only move up ten spots, I get that. so, no one below 11th worst can move up to first. good system. but given that only the first two spots are lottery spots and the rest are determined by reverse standings order, how and why can a team move up to, say, 6th from 16th? shouldn't any team not getting pick one or two just be in the order that they're in already?
