The Court reasoned that because Zuma was convicted of an offence, and sentenced to more than 12 months imprisonment he is not qualified to stand for election until 5 years have lapsed since the completion of his sentence. #enca #dstv403

That is a separate matter. If the people of this country want to vote for him, not court should be busy meddling with election affairs. Let me remind you that the same court that is banning him from the elections, is the same court that sent him to prison for refusing to appear to a informal commission that has no police investigative powers and is also not an official court room. Zuma had no duty to appear in that commission if he didn't want to. But because it was the concourt that made that ruling, those judges knew that no matter if their judgement is correct or wrong, Zuma would not be allowed to appeal. Its a personal vendetta against Zuma by judges who feel that Zuma must not be allowed a fair chance because they are convinced he got away with too much in the past. Its a process now called "Zuma laws" which refers to judges imposing personal bias for political reasons.

@@angrysocialjusticewarrior its not a Zuma law, its the plain reading of the wording of the Constutution. Justice was served today, irrespective whether you take into account the years that Zuma acted corruptly to enrich himself and his followers.

This does not change a thing. He is still the leader of MK, he is still the face of MK. He has already publicly stated that he will lead the party from outside parliament and will not hold a seat in parliament. For him to downgrade to a mere MP would be an insult to his own legacy. He would also forfeit all his presidential benefits. This whole exercise is nothing but a tick-box for the IEC, and a free campaign tool for the MK. They all fell for it 😅. Another chess move!!

My question is why in the first place, Dali Mpofu had to take a case like this???? Was he expecting the CC to contradict....self🤷 this is one case that was clear , it's not make sure for Zuma with a criminal record. Mpofu's argument was the matter belongs to Parliament??? The state capture belongs to Parliament BUT it ended up in the he CC. The dispute was about right to hold Public Office??? I just get the argument of Zuma lawyers. It's such a shame ❤️🇿🇦

I think that here in South Africa you become a suspect and later you may become a President of the country, I think that it's time our government do things differently. There are people who were murdered but because of their poor status, they have money challenge their case's they are ignored. People who are financially stable they are on the better side of getting assistance, I am not trying to criticise but I am raising this because my child in murdered in 2015 to date I have not heard anything from state side. This brings me to not trust our law enforcement.

Zuma looks remarkably well for a man with a terminal disease that supposedly had him at death's door , perhaps the same ancestors that miraculously took away Shabir sheiks death disease , this terminal disease ensures you spend no jail time ! Even if you vote the MK, remember Zuma will not be seating in Parly nor any of his children because if that happens what will happen to the MK. It will look like it was formed for Zuma and his children. Like Cope it will die. If Zuma does not sit who then is eligible to seat in Parly because most members of MK are tenderpreneurs who were hoping that Guptas would return to feed them. I mean after all it is evident that even the founders are not capable to man up and stand against ANC themselves. So we are speaking estimation here and not facts? Who was MK formed for exactly? Was it for Zuma and Duduzile or who was it for exactly? All I see are tenderpreneurs who ate waiting for the Guptas to feed them. If you have been in a political space you would know never estimate and also 5 year is a long time and a lot happens in 5 years you would never know. If Zuma and his children are not there where will all the MK members be? And who amongst them would be eligible to lead?

It doesn't really matter. MK is going to parliament. President Zuma remains the leader of MK. He is going to play a central role in the decision making of the party even if he is not in parliament. People will still vote for MK.
