Hyundai has BROKEN THE GAME with their new IONIQ 5 N...
I'll be honest, the ALL-NEW IONIQ 5 N has completely ruined all other EVs for me. What other EV sounds this good? What other EV drives this well, with a dual-clutch simulator? For $111,000 you would certainly hope it was nice, though. So today we're going for a comprehensive tour of the all-new Hyundai IONIQ 5, checking out all of its exterior and interior changes, testing its performance by timing its 0-100km/h speed, driving it really hard on road and on the track, and then ending on our final thoughts on Hyundai's most expensive car.

That dual-clutch mode creates real deceleration, so you can save on expensive brake pads.

All EV's do this already using adaptive regen braking. It won't make a difference in brake pad longevity, it is purely a driving experience enhancer.

@@shiugen676 The N pedal performs 0.6G regenerative braking. The regenerative braking capabilities of all EVs are completely unusable on the track. However, the N pedal provides regenerative braking that can be used on the track. ICE racing brakes provide optimal braking in a specific temperature range, and failure to manage heat will result in rapid performance deterioration or inoperability. However, using 0.6G regenerative braking frees you from these concerns. Additionally, 0.6G's powerful regenerative braking delivers stronger charging than ultra-fast charging. What's even more surprising is that the EGMP and battery system developed by Hyundai has the characteristic of cooling the battery's heat when powerful regenerative braking and powerful charging are performed. This is an innovation that cannot be compared to the regenerative braking of existing EVs.

I think the appropriate comparison is with the... Lamborghini Urus. They do approximately the same thing, which is provide hypercar performance and stupid amounts of fun while still having room for child seats and groceries. This might put a bigger smile on your face.

It is easy to misjudge mass/power/speed on EVs, so the sound helps to elevate it a bit in spiritted driving setting. It is off by default, and can be kept off.

If you mean the paddle shifters yea that’s a setting you turn on in the menu, otherwise you can just treat it like a standard Ioniq 5 just with more power and differences in some suspension and feel.

400mm disk is not a must go. the regen braking tech. which goes upto 0.8G(0.6G in this car)is the real one. NPX1(race version of this car) has 18inch wheels which can't have 400mm one.

interior fit outs were such to reduce the weight.. It's a built fo the speed and keeping the centre of the gravity to the far bottom is more important.

TBH the standard ioniq looks nicer. Ioniq 5 are used as cabs in Jakarta. Excellent cars.

You don't have to hand wash the matte. You can run it through any automatic touch-free car wash so long as it doesn't have wax (so the bottom tier).

100% just drove one, and all the fake noises are terrible. All they needed to do was record a V10, V8, and straight 6 from other cars and use that. The "real" one they use just drones and is irritating. The fake gear shifts work well to engage you, but ultimately the whole package lacks something.

Just as well it costs $111,000. Wouldn't want too many of these on the road. The performance is downright dangerous. Lots of kinetic energy when it hits something or someone!
