I honestly love the base model. It has such a utilitarian feel, with the small screen, no annoying buttons and big screens just a car that you can rely on and that's what I love. What do you really do in your car? For me its listen to music, change the temp, and then drive, we overcomplicate what a car is and honestly that's why I love base modes and especially Subaru.

I got a 2023 Forester Wilderness and love it. Chances are if you're looking at a Forester, technology and screen gadgetry isn't your main priority so I'd get a current model and try to score the best deal possible.

We're on our 4th Forester now, my newest being a '22. I'm seriously addicted to these cars! The excellent ergonomics, tall seating position and huge windows are major selling points for me.

I decided to not wait for either and bought a 2023. Premium.

I got a nice deal on a 2024 Touring with the brown leather... if I could have stayed within $1000 - $1500 of my deal on a 2025, I would have preferred to wait, but I didn't think that was going to happen. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Funny because if you asked me 24 vs 25 2 months ago, I would've laughed. Now, the 25 has really grown on me.

I still have my 2014 model it's in excellent condition, still drives like brand new. These cars are great as long as u care them.

My forester is 9 year old now, i have drove many cars but never feel the steering like the one in my forester . Steering is like a melting butter . For the price and world winning engine . It's a good car to buy .. no complaints .

I like the analog gages. Not a fan of all the smart screen stuff.

2019-2021 daytime running lights will be a classic still! 2022-2024 are more reliable though.

I’m a first time Subaru buyer and purchased the 2024 Limited Forester. Previously, I had a beautiful 2014 Kia Sorento that I loved but needed replacing. It was hard decision to not go with the Ascent Touring to get that 3rd row seating but the lower mileage and cost was enough for me to go with the ‘24 Forester Limited.

Picked up the 2024 Limited Black/Black last month. Wish they would have left the CD player in there. Also, have a 2019 Touring. In the 2024 they finally changed the cruise control button. On the 2019, you click it once and it goes in increments of 5MPH. Have to hold it up or down to go in 1 mph increments. On the 2024 they fixed it so when you click it once it goes in 1mph increments. Puch up or down and hold it and then it will go in 5 mph increments.

Yes the rear seats DO recline!!! There is a little pull tab by your outboard hip.

I believe the rear seats do recline it’s just in a different position than the outback but it’s very my new like 2 inches

I think the Mazda CX-5 Select trim is a better buy for the features.

I'd get the 24 model. The 25 models look like every other vehicle on the road and it will have the new radio which is already having issues. I prefer buttons and knobs to work the front camera and X-Mode because its faster and more reliable. My friend just got a really good deal on the 24 Forester Wilderness and she loves it.

I’m torn between trying to get a good last minute deal before the 2025 release this spring, or wait for the hybrid in 2026

I am in the market for a Subaru Forester but would not buy it until I see the HP and Torque ratings on the 2025 Hybrid model... the Forester is my preferred choice of auto but, the power is entirely inadequate for me... if they offered the turbocharged engine I would buy it but, since they won't I'll just wait to see what their hybrid Forester is like.

There are several aftermarket wireless charging pads for Forester, that fit in the nook. Subaru Parts Dept sells Subaru brand wireless chargers for Outback and Impreza-not sure why they don't make a version for Forester.

My opinion on design: 1. I like that they've changed the roof racks to be more practical with flush rails! (for the exception of models with sunroof) 2. The middle of the car looks OK, I would say it looks quite generic 3. I really liked the trim at the bottom of the car, its a pretty good design! 4. The pattern inside looks cute To the old ppl who complain that they removed physical buttons: They actually didn't remove physical buttons, they just moved them. Majority of buttons located on steering wheel, a few on the driver's door and some near the tablet, some are also near gear stick. ALL PHYSICAL BUTTONS ARE PRESENT! You are not supposed to use tablet while driving! While driving you can only use it for: - maps/navigation - camera usage, eg while parking For ppl who afraid there could be problems as it's a new generation. They are NOT using new technology, so the chance of getting a problem is low. They've used this technology for years in subaru outback and now in crosstreck 2024. I personally like their changes, I think subaru have done a great job! (No I am not working for subaru, just personal opinion after test driving old forester and outback with new technology, i definitely wait for new forester)

I bought a 2024 forester sport, coming from a 2022 f150, very pleasant vehicle to drive and HK system is fantastic. I had a 2020 explorer .. the 2025 forester looks like an explorer meh. I also own a 24 telluride SX and prefer driving the forester on a daily basis.

It's the big screen that made us buy a 2024 just a fan of it Lots of room not powerful.but its a tank power isnt everything

I have been looking at the Forester for a while. I will probably buy one, but I don't like the 2025. It's bland and it no longer sets itself apart visually. It looks like the Ford Explorer. Plus, I want a Wilderness trim and there has been no announcement about a 2025 Forester Wilderness.

Forester’s steering wheel cannot be moved/adjusted down far enough for a driver with short arms or short drivers. The Outback’s steering wheel is much better can be adjusted down to a much lower position.

One thing that is annoying me about subarus is how everything is the same for interior now. Why does a 24k impreza have the same infotainment as a 45k outback. This is why i would choose a toyota crown signia over an outback now.

Will one of these reviews tell us long-time Subaru Forester owners (A)Does the darn car (either '24 or '25) have lighted courtesy/visor mirrors like practically EVERY OTHER car that's as much as $10,000 cheaper have? and (B) Has Subaru taken the hint from the hundreds of thousands of owners who've complained about the lack of proper lighting in the cargo area? Has that been improved other thana the two ditzy lights on either lower side of that area? I see by this video there's only one measly light up top in the back and a halogen/low yellow light one at that. What's the deal on this w/the /25? Please someone provide an answer to these two, albeit minor, annoyances....but anoyances nonetheless.

well if they put a real standard 8 speed transmission in the 2025 I will wait, but if they put the trash cvt back into it looks like never. Shame really my wife likes them.

The fact that the 2025 is already dated takes it off my list. The same analog gauges for the 2025 and the dated looking 11.6 infotainment from outback. You also lose 2 HP with the same underpowered engine. Im assuming Subaru is going to lower the price for 2025 since they raised the price a crazy anount since 2021. Subaru please catch up to your competition. You're late to party and what ive seen of 2025 you're late to the party again. Tree huggers and dog owners dont want to be laughed at by their friends and family. My 21 touring is be traded in for 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. I never thought i would ever say that but the 2025 looks a mess and dated tech. So sad and your reliability has waned in the past few years. Everytime i go to service my car the poor service writer is being torn a new one because they have a issue they seem like they cant fix

My least favorite car brand. 😒 I always get stuck behind a slow Subaru. 🐌 Their styling language is just too dorky and basic for me. 🤓 But if someone fits that personality and likes blandness, then it's a perfect vehicle for them. 🤷‍♂️ I'm the life-of-the-party kind of guy. 😎 I need a vehicle that is cutting-edge with up-to-date technology and a splash of luxury. 🏎️ This Subaru, or any Subaru, is not for me. 🙅‍♂️

Subaru = ugly and cheap all over. One of the worst brands with the worst vehicles. Left behind in the dust by Toyota, Honda and Mazda. Even the Koreans are better. People only buy them due to being diehard fans.
