The Trek Slash has undoubtedly been one of the most popular enduro bikes on the market since it was first introduced back in 2011. It was late 2020 when we tested the last version, which impressed us with its buttery-smooth suspension performance and surprising agility for what was a big and burly brawler.
For 2024 however, the Slash has been completely redesigned from the ground-up. Featuring a high pivot suspension design, additional pulley wheels and a mullet setup, it is quite clearly a very different bike to its predecessor.
So how do all the changes play out on the trail? And what about those online reports of chain-dropping issues? We'll be discussing all of that, and more, in our in-depth review of the new 2024 Trek Slash.

It's Good if you make a 1v1 comparison agaisnt the Gen 5 slash. But In the end the Gen 5 slash is still a better AM/Enduro MTB. Those Enduro Mtb these days getting High pivot getting as slack as DH Bike is Pure Nonsense getting more progessive overtime the resullt of Bad Modernization. After few years maybe we can have a 190mm so called "Enduro" bike with 61° Head angle with 32/27.5 mullet😂 what a Nonsense the Industry is going into. They just want to make more money no real innovation on those super expensive 8-9k plus Mtb's, if they want a 170-180 travel enduro bike with mullet & High pivot & 63° HTA the can just do that 20 years ago in the 1st place😂 but not because most company are just following and waiting for trends but for trek while they're the no.1 Industry leader in real innovation but they're slowly going into "Follow trends" "make more money instead of making real unique innovation." Style.

Nice bike, but that issue at 7.20 is a good reason to drop a chain.

"Sounds like nit-picking" hmmm well yeah it is a $10k bike you'd expect not to have those issues Cool bike, wish I could get myself back into it, .... kinda regret selling my 2016 9.8 slash ... crazy to think that was a near top tier bike that I bought new for $5k with a little discount

Actually on that, I'd love you guys to test say something like an older higher tier carbon slash (that would have been around the $6k mark) vs a newer lower tier alloy framed slash (Or maybe even a remedy or fuel ex.)

The manufacturer generally dictates what tier bike they send out for testing.
