I don't understand why so many reviewers put this bike down. Looks beautiful and aggressive in a classy way, sounds amazing, great build quality and service intervals, enough useable power without scaring the hell out of you. And great value. I like the Suzuki and Honda, but the triple engine tips it for me, maybe change the front springs and save up for an Ohlins or Sachs rear shock. Would be a marvellous bike. Cheers Mark. All the best.

Because this "sports bike" is lower powered than street bikes already in their lineup

As an A2 compatible bike this must be a serious contender for anyone in that market. Cracking paint-job too, and with decent tyres from the get-go what's *not* to like about this middleweight from Triumph...

I do love the sound of a Triple, other than the dash I like it very much. Price wise it’s very reasonable I recall paying £7500 for a Honda CBR 600F in the late nineties. Thanks Mark 👍

Great review. I have a Speed Twin 900 currently which I’m very happy with, but if I was looking for a sports bike in the mid range the Daytona would be a real contender.

Nice review as always, I’m not a fan of the bike, the back end looks too short and the dash is a bit lacking compared to full TFT displays. Ride safe.

Hi Mark, a great review, i know exactly what you mean, and totally agree with your summing up. Why?, because i tested that same bike from DTD a few weeks back, on the same roads, and absolutely loved it. I totally agree about the need for these more road focused mid sized sports bikes, they are the right sports bikes for crappy British roads. However, i still think there is a market for a larger version, possibly using the Tiger 900 engine, now that would be the ultimate pure road sports bike.

Nice review. Great engine, seems like a decent bike. Not really a fan of the cockpit but it isn't a deal breaker. Although I am more put off by the average suspension & lazy handling. This is a class leader if they sharpened up the handing just a little bit. Seems like they slightly missed the mark but I'm sure Triumph will address it next year as they're usually pretty responsive.
@TwinPotMan15 күн бұрын
I agree entirely. I tested the very bike Mark is reviewing here and as a previous owner of a Speed Triple R, Street Triple 675 RX and Street Triple 765R, I was expecting good handling. BUT, coming to the first roundabout I had to really haul the bike into the turn. At first I thought it might be a soft front tyre but having now read MCN's latest review, the problem seems to be a high front end. I only did about 5 miles because I was so disappointed by the dull handling, which you better describe as "lazy". By comparison the Suzuki GSX8R is much sharper handling and I think a better bike.
@ragerider628315 күн бұрын
@@TwinPotMan Agreed. And for the record I bought an 8R as it was the better package, for me at least, by far. The 8R's no scalpel but it's handling is surprisingly good & very positive. Night & day compared to this & that's with the distinctly average OE rubber on too.

Probably the best looking modern middleweight sport motorcycle on the road. Pity the quick-shifter isn’t standard, but I bet these will sell fast anyway.

This looks like a nice sort of budget sports tourer/comuter machine. When i was 19 I had a TZR250 and I had no car and loved it. If i was that age again one of these or CBR650 or GSX8R would be perfect. In my 50s and having bikes mainly for fun its not for me. One thing i do wish is Triumph would get up to date with their dashes. This looks dated compared to all other manufacturers TFT dashes. They just about get away with it on this the trident and the tiger sport but it has no place on the Street Triple R which its also fitted too😮

Hi Mark, Have you ever ridden a Honda CBR600F ? I bought one of the very last ones made back in 2007 and found the riding position good, not too sporty (the handling was great too). What I'm wondering is if the riding position of the Daytona 660 is anything like the CBR600F... ? Thanks for the vid, very good review, love the sound of the bike... it's got me quite interested to go and have a look at one.
