I felt so bad for him. Compared to when I've seen him in the past, he actually did incredible here (minus the slightly silly McConnell slip up). His act is a bit more polished. The crowd just wasn't having any of it. I think he just roasted a bit much or might simply have been out of place for this dinner (and the mood--I think if Trump had never been elected as POTUS, it might have worked better). He should be on SNL, though. He has the mannerisms down. That McConnell skit would have gone down well there.

I never miss this, I not only love the Presidents even Republicans with self deprecating humor. The room is so tough for the comedians, while I'm in stitches. I'm assuming there's very little of the population that watches to learn the importance of the press. It's an absolute disgrace that so many people don't trust the press anymore.😢

Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't get the jokes since I don't subscribe to any newspaper right now. I just read a few (on the web) each time I need to catch up on a certain topic...I, of course, make sure they're credible sources and not some random blog or whatever, but I find my info via topic search rather than starting with any newspaper in particular. That's sad about the Times. If a particular source keeps having the info I'm looking for but makes it apparent they're biased (which, as I'm sure you know, is not hard to pick up on), I actually try to avoid them. I've also do the same for online news channels and night shows (though I also leave critical comments for them to read before abandoning their channel altogether...until they shape up, anyway, which some have). I wonder if NYT is doing the mistake that CNN did in responding to criticism of being too far left: by going too far right?

I almost didn't finish watching. When Colin came on, it was long and boring and some of his jokes weren't clear (esp. w/cocaine, considering drug use was actually a problem in Trump's White House, not Biden's--I think the audience got confused as I did at that one). He did OK toward the end. Biden, however, was just on 🔥 with his speech and one liners. I didn't realize how much of a comedian he is. Holey smokes!

I was an avid consumer of news for decades. I'm from a very politically active family going back generations. The news is NO LONGER the news. The news is what the shareholders and corporate backers want you to think. Biden is very rarely IF EVER praised or even covered fairly in the news. Mainstream media - the nightly news - covers the same 3 stories hour after hour. You RARELY if ever see his accomplishments: the chip making factories being built in the USA, the improvement to drug prices, the highest employment rate in history, support of unions and workers, the infrastructure law (not empty promises), help for former students drowning in unfair student loan INTEREST payments, safeguarding climate policies that TFG threw out. IT IS NOT BIDEN'S JOB TO SECURE THE BORDER. Congress hasn't passed immigration legislation in decades. The GOP & their King Trump keeps blocking it because THEY WANT this issue. It is CONGRESS' JOB TO ENACT & PASS LEGISLATION TO SECURE THE BORDER. We will lose our democracy, plain and simple, if Trump is put in office again.

Noah threw digs at everyone including his own show by saying the reason people watched him because they'd fallen asleep while watching the show before his. There were no awkward gaps in his delivery and his comments were given with humor. But saying Biden is unable to think on his feet...just look at the unscripted remarks he made to his hecklers.
