@webcomment8895 27 күн бұрын
Nope. Why the hell would anyone pay $30K for a base Civic Sport Hybrid when the new Camry Hybrid starts at $29K with way more room, more power and higher fuel economy? Even the base LE has rear vents with USB charging ports for rear passengers. If you want the bigger wheels, you can upgrade to the Camry SE for not much more or just add some aftermarket rims to the LE. Only some very desperate Honda fans racing to get the first ones that hit the lots will pay markups, but it is not sustainable.

@@mh0Ang95 It’s not that much nicer to support paying more for a smaller, less powerful and less fuel efficient vehicle. We will have to wait and see what the actual MSRP turns out to be. The amount of buyers who will tolerate markups on a Civic when other options are available is limited.
@mh0Ang95
@mh0Ang95 20 күн бұрын
@@webcomment8895 To me it is way nicer. They have just enough hard controls; hvac knobs for that, volume for music, etc. It's got a more luxury feel vs Toyota. Plus the Toyota steering wheel in their current models is so ugly. As I've said, this is to me subjectively what I find a more pleasing aesthetic. As far as power goes, it's got more than you need lol. And idk to compare it being say a couple miles less efficient vs another hybrid so as long as it outperforms literally all fuel gas vehicles out there. It'll go 45+ real world with harder driving, and 50+ with efficiency and smooth accel, etc

The new Honda hybrid system is excellent. I love our new sport touring CRV. Though slightly less efficient than the Toyota system, it is an order of magnitude more refined and doesn't suffer from CVT rubber banding or drone. The "polish" of the drivetrain makes for a much more upscale overall driving experience. Definitely worth the money! Yet I miss my 1983 civiv which cost a whopping 5k😂

Exactly. Other markets get those features so how much more would it cost Honda to include them? The parts are available at the same plant too. Honda would be out of their minds to not translate this efficient hybrid drivetrain and the new infotainment features over to the Integra. Their strategy to push Acura into complete electrification is going to flame out hard. The kind of buyers who are potentially interested in this kind of efficiency usually aren't interested in stunting around in ridiculously expensive EVs that can't be refueled, they're going to want sensible hybrids that bridge the gap of affordability, range, practicality, and being discreet. And there'd be huge potential for an efficient hybrid Integra version of this platform in the $40K range with a few additional premium features. It's not a big reach, they're already 9/10ths of the way there.

Everyone (caranddriver, motortrend, kellybluebook) is estimating a roughtly 28k starting price. Even my local dealership in Arlington VA is estimating 28k. I'm almost positive that's low. It's going to come in just a squeak under 30k, I'm guessing 29500 or 29900 with destination. The accord sport hybrid is exactly 5k more than a base accord LX. So given that estimate, the difference between the base civic LX and the Sport Hybrid has to be more than 3k more, and the base civic LX in 2024 is $25,045. Given that the accord sport hybrid is a little over 17% more than a base LX, by that logic a 17% increase over 2024 Civic LX pricing would be 29400, but given that the LX will probably increase a couple hundred dollars for 2025, that leave my estimate of around 29500-29900 for a 2025 civic sport hybrid, the cheapest hybrid. Just for reference, you can get a corolla hybrid w/ the 1400 option package that includes blind spot monitoring and allow wheels (to bring it closer in line with a sport hybrid civic) for 4 grand less. 4 grand. Alternatively, a new base Camry Hybrid is $29,495. If the civic hybrid is going to be the exact same price, why wouldn't I go with a Camry? A full class bigger and a company with substantially more proven hybrid powertrains

The Corolla AWD is on-demand, so it's FWD virtually all the time. This '25 Civic hasn't been driven, or been issued EPA numbers yet. @@peaceable263 The Civic Hybrid will use an e-CVT with planetary gears - completely different CVT-type. The interior was dramatically updated in... '22?

Every manufacturer is going fully Electric and you're still stuck with Hybrids lol. No one is going to be spending over 30k for technology that will be worthless in the future.

Electric is whats truly worthless. It works well for people who own their own home. And live in a city. And never leave that city. And never deal with severe cold. People who can reasonably commute in electric cars would be better off on 125cc scooters. People who actually drive significant distance will always need a gasoline fuel source.

I got 50 mpg in the 80s on most Japanese cars that I had owned, many of them with carburetors….didn’t have much complexity and electronics…just need household tools to fix them when needed. This NEW Honda is a failure in my opinion.
