For real, I almost wished I hadn’t watched this last season. After years of preparing to fight the night king, hyping that up and making it super suspenseful, then he is dead almost immediately and by Arya?? Then Cersei is somehow the ultimate threat?? Compared to the dead like really?? Just felt so rushed and didn’t feel right to have it end with all those main characters still alive. Greyworm should have killed Jon after he killed dany, then starting a war because of that and going from there. Idk, just bummed it’s over and the way it played out.

GRRM F'd nearly every Actor, every Behind the Scenes worker and D&D out of 2 YEARS of Income and stability they counted on when they signed a contract to work for 10 seasons not 8. Nah the writing sucked. Didnt do the wight walkers justice. Teased and hyped them up from seasons 1 to 7 and then kills them off in season 8 without providing much understanding as to what their intentions were, why were they marching south, etc. They also kind of hyped the golden company in s07 but made them look like a useless army. They got lazy for this last season and was hurrying to just finish it.

No, HBO actually pushed for 10 episodes, but the show writers wanted 6. What a counter-culture situation where the network is urging the artist to be more indulgent. The show writers dropped the ball more than anyone. The conclusion to the end-game decision and turnouts make sense, it's just that they were too rushed in the final episodes to realize the character and story arcs. Such a shame. Still a great show and even finale if you imagine the season reached those revelations logically and coherently as Martin intended.
