For #22: If Gendry could row all the way from Dragonstone to King’s Landing-a roughly 350 mile distance-in treacherous waters, in a rowboat with two oars, despite never rowing a boat in his life and not knowing how to swim, then Gendry Baratheon can run all the way to the Wall in thick ass snow. Gendry is clearly the most physically fit man in Westeros.

It's not just Tyrion suggesting Bran to be the king, but the fact that everyone was like "Oh yeah, the jailed dwarf we were about to execute is right."

I personally dont think them hiding in the crypt was the issue, it was the fact that the dead were able to break out of stone tombs when previously shown they can be kept in wooden crates

You forgot about the white walker dragon destroying the whole wall but not being able to get to Jon when he is hiding behind a bolder

#12 Makes me the most angry because Jaime was the only member of the king's guard to break oath to protect the people. Even someone as highly regarded as Barristen Selmy wasn't going to break oath. For Jaime to say that he never cared about the people was just absolutely ridiculous.

Honorable mention for Jon hiding behind a small lip of rock when the undead dragon breathed fire at him, and still survives. When Dany is on Drogon torching king's landing and exploding building on a pass by... and a concentrated breath from the undead dragon at Jon who isn't moving, is just hiding behind the small lip, the lip becomes impervious, and shields Jon not only from the blast that may explode buildings, but from the heat that would ultimately melt anything in the vicinity.

The way that I can’t even go back and rewatch a show that I was obsessed with for years because of how badly it ended is so depressing.

For #10 I just realized that canonically the dragons won’t go over the wall. In Fire and Blood, Queen Alysanne Targaryen tried to fly her dragon north of the wall and it refused to do it.

I personally think it's dumb as fuck that the Night King, played by a professional stuntman and sword fight choreographer, didn't get a badass fight scene with his brand new sword prop we see on his back the entire fucking episode. Such a missed opportunity to show off Furdik's skill.

Originally, I didn't like how in Season 8, episode 3, there was a wight that was in almost every shot, and all it was doing was drinking beer and wearing only boxers. I later figured out that was actually my reflection in the pitch blackness of my TV.

Jaime's arc being butchered with only one line is just sad. He deserved more... much more.

- Arya's white horse - the Golden Company being dead after a second - Bran doing nothing - The Unsullied being just angry at Jon - Bran not being the evil guy making Dany snap - Jon not being killed for regicide - Melisandre dying after lighting the swords without effect - the artillery being in front of Kingslanding - the Dothraki being ended in episode 2 and returning in episode 6 - Arya sneaking away from the walkers instead of killing everyone since she's able to kill the Night King no problemo - everyone plotting against Dany as if everyone was an idiot - Arya not being a faceless man after being stabbed to death - Littlefinger not seeing through Arya and Sansa's plot - Varys being a traitor despite the warning two episodes earlier - Jon riding the dragon without Dany suspecting anything - Jon's and Dany's terrible love story

Danny forgetting about the iron fleet was definitely one of the worst for me like she is hundreds of feet up in the air which means she can see much further than the fleet can so she should spot them long before they would be able to fire on her

Can we please talk about how Danny literally sent the dothraki and unsullied to fight everywhere and still by the time she took over kings landing she still had the same large hoard that she began with? I mean considering the dothraki went head first into the whites and the Unsullied are literally every where getting their heads cut off, shouldn't their be a smaller army by the end of the show? It just doesn't make sense that her army doesn't lessen in numbers at all

One thing that always bugged me about the scene where Jamie charged Daenerys and Drogon was how deep the water was when he was pushed in by Bronn. They were right at the water's edge only about a foot deep, yet when he gets pushed in the water he's suddenly sinking into the Mariana Trench. Either there's a cliff 4 feet from the water's edge or Bronn super pushed him a mile from the coast.

Sam bringing up democracy and the Dothraki just running into a massive hoard and just dying were the worst bits for me.

I could never understand how they just managed to produce all of those ships so suddenly as well. Or where they managed to find so much food too in various places.

A stupid moment for me is when Rickon was running through the field IN A STRAIGHT LINE getting shot at by Ramsey. Rickon without a doubt would've survived if he zig zagged, but no since he didn't have a purpose in the plot why not kill him.

I enjoyed this. I like how you virtually left seasons 1-4 untouched because, well, they were great.

Jon just forgot he was a Targaryen. Bran forgot Jon was the rightful king.

“Who shall we choose as king to rule us fairly and create a new dynasty?” The answer: Bran, the handicapped boy who can’t have children and who doesn’t even care about anyone on a human and humane level.

Dany not torching literally every enemy without having to waste 1 soldier is what got me. Yeah, so she can’t kill the Knight King but you can kill his forces. Every time the seasons were activated, they were unstoppable. But now you’re gonna sacrifice almost all of your infantry instead.

For #16 I actually liked Jaime's charge because as a member of the Kingsguard dying in combat is considered the ideal way to end your page in the White Book. "Some had been heroes, some weaklings, knaves, or cravens... The best of them overcame their flaws, did their duty, and died with their swords in their hands." In the books we see another member of the Kingsgaurd make a somewhat similar charge resulting in his death and it is speculated that he did so to end his life honorably. The part where a teleporting Bronn manages to save him is pretty dumb though.

It'll never stop being funny how it was clearly stated in the first episode that it can take WEEKS to move around Westeros, and then eventually it just turns into the size of Ireland and you can get anywhere within a day or so.

Another stupid moment is when Bran says there is missing a master of whispers...like..he can see and hear everything in any time, but he needs a master of whispers?

Another annoying character arc (or lack thereof) was of Bronn. He went from a Sellsword who would kill for the highest bidder, to becoming a friend and risking treason to set up meetings with Tyrion and Jaime and risking his life to save Jaime against a fire-breathing Dragon. And at the end he goes back to kill Tyrion and Jaime and offers to spare their lives only for Gold and Castles as if their friendship meant nothing.

While Jon Snow not being killed by Greyworm and the Unsullied still baffles me to this day, I always sort of just assumed that because Jon was a Targaryen he had some sort of special connection with the dragons and that was why Drogon didn't kill him. Not necessarily the best explanation, but it was, and is still honestly, good enough for me. Edit: Sansa is still the worst

When I saw Danny going crazy, I thoughts she’s going directly to Cersei’s keep and frying her alive along with the Mountain. Instead she kills everyone EXCEPT her!

One of the most stupid moment in Got history has to be when the white walkers pulled those gigantic chains from their asses and then diving in the frozen lake to pull the fucking dragon out. Scuba zombies, yeah fucking great writing.

The way they treated Littlefinger made me the maddest by far.

I think you should add the scene when the hound is throwing rocks at the white walkers, and they figure out that the ice is frozen enough to walk on again. All they had to do was wait for Daenerys to pull up with her dragons.

To me, number 1 is when Tyrion made Bran king It’s like Tywin knew this was going to happen and wanted to drown him, but couldn’t because he was a Lannister

I think an honorable mention is Sansa stating that being abused and rapped was the best thing to happen to her as it made her who she is. *BARF*

I think Bran becoming King was a bad move, but with that said I think it’s even worse when you add that Sansa decided to become Queen in the North when Bran, her brother, was becoming protector of the entire realm. Made her seem bitter and power hungry. God, that last episode. What a piece of crap ending to what was once the best show on TV.

Addition to point 8: It is also just incredibly stupid that you have this faction of necromancers built up for eight seasons, raising their enemies as undead servants, and you don't have this happen to a SINGLE main character. Imagine Sam, Dany, Jon, Arya or Jaime being resurrected and facing their former friends and family in combat, how impactful this would be. In season 3, we heard Osha tell that she had to fight her own husband as a wight, and this was impactful even when just told as a story. Talk about missed opportunities.

D&D basically had no idea what they were doing. They were so obsessed with 'surprising' the audience they forgot to make it make sense. I mean if they wanted to surprise people, why didn't they have Hot Pie swoop down on a flying pig and kill the Night King before being made Master of the Kitchen?

My view with Jon surviving charging the Boltons is that the lord of light was protecting him - the way he dodged the blows is almost magical, he’s the prince that was promised

I liked your video, here are some moments that I think may be missing: 1. The defeat of Blackfish it was very stupid, that is, when the Freys threatened to kill Edmure in front of the castle no one said anything but a chapter later, when Edmure arrives at the castle and orders them to let him pass, all the men obey his orders and ignore Blackfish... why? I understand that Edmure is their "sir" but it is very evident that at that moment it is a trap of the Lannisters and the Freys, Blackfish himself says it but nobody pays attention to him, nobody sided with Blaskfish (the man who fought and recovered the castle). How come no soldiers in that castle realize that Edmure was going to surrender except Blackfish? they were really such idiots?. It would have made more sense for the men to accept Edmure because they wanted to surrender for fear of fighting but that's not what happened, the castle captain shows a confused face when Edmure orders to surrender, really? Why is he surprised at what was obvious? Blackfish warned him and he didn't listen, the whole scene is ridiculous. 2. Daenerys is still fighting after Drogon was attacked with the scorpion in the battle of season 7 episode 4. I mean, before Drogon is injured Daenerys has already won the battle, she can retreat to a safe place and order her army destroys that scorpion and kill Bronn, but she fights on, which only puts Drogon (and her) in danger. What's more, when Drogon dodges the scorpion for the first time, Daenerys decides the smart thing to do would be to attack Bronn head on, allowing the latter an easy shot, that was stupid, what if Daenerys falls off Drogon for the attack of the scorpion? simple, she would fall and die, literally every time she flies on a dragon she is in danger of dying because she doesn't have a chair to hold on to, one sudden movement and she could fall out of the air and die. 3. Daenerys was a fool to listen to Tyrion's advice, how did Tyrion become the hand of the Queen? he literally did nothing good in Meeren (his only good deed was release the dragons but really in the battle of Meeren Viseryon and Rhaegal could have been missing and it wouldn't have changed anything), Daenerys had to go back to Meeren and solve all the problems herself. Even Tyrion admits that he was wrong and failed. Why listen to Tyrion after that? Tyrion gave bad advice throughout season 7. Even Varys or Olenna were better options to be the hand of the Queen. Jorah could do it too, Danny just has to wait for his return. 4. Why do the North and Danny need Cersei to join the war against the Night King? Cersei no longer has an army after the battle in season 7 episode 4, Cersei herself admits that she need to hire mercenaries like the golden company to has a chace to win. Dany could have killed Cersei and taken Kings Landing by the time she got to Westeros, no one could have stopped her. In the end, Cersei was useless against the Night King, all that "we need Cersei for the battle at Winterfell" was bullshit. 5. Why does Dorne obey Ellaria and her daughters? they killed Doran Martell (the prince of Dorne) how come no one in Dorne protests against that?, I mean Dorne managed to hold against AEGON TARGARYEN and his dragons but couldn't hold against Ellaria and 3 other stupid blood killers . ...WTF????, only Olenna Tyrell dared to call Ellaria a triador because the rest of Dorne fell silent. The Dorne plot was the biggest nonsense in all of GOT in my opinion. 6. Cersei crowns herself queen............ I guess she did it because no one else stood against her, I mean, she has no right to the Iron Throne, her children also had no right because they were bastards. How can the people of King's Landing keep their cool in the face of Cersei? It's common knowledge in Westeros that Cersei destroyed the sept of Baelor, it's like destroying a holy relic for the populace but no one said or opposed Cersei for it. 7. Daenerys gains the loyalty of the Dothraki after killing their leaders, it felt weird, I mean, the Dothraki are supposed to distrust magic and wizardry and have a lot of loyalty for their leaders, the moment they saw Daenerys to leave the flames, the most logical thing would be that they kill her because she killed their leaders and she has magic but instead everyone kneels before her, I'm not saying it's impossible but it was felt that the series accelerated everything so that Daenerys could quickly return to Meeren. I think the worst thing about this point was that there started the ridiculous argument that Targaryens are immune to fire (I don't know how many people still think this is a given in the GOT universe). 8. Jon's origin is useless in the end, the only thing he managed was to create dispute and fear in Daenerys's mind but nothing else, Aegon Targaryen?, nothing mattered. 9. Daenerys and Jon's relationship feels forced, they had no chemistry and shared nothing in common other than blood. 10. Why did the Night King risk his existence in the Battle of Winterfell? Let me explain: when the Night King raised the dead at Winterfell, you could practically say he had already won the war, Daenerys was surrounded by an army of the undead, Drogon was flying with the dead hanging from his body, Jon was running like an idiot around the castle with no escape, etc. The Night King could easily have left Winterfell and let his army of the dead kill everyone, that way he doesn't have to risk his own existence, I mean, if he falls then his whole army falls too, Arya couldn't have killed him because he wouldn't be in the castle anymore, he could have left Winterfell with his generals and the main characters would have died, did he really have to kill Bran personally? Why? any undead or white walker could do it for him, if the Night King hadn't risked his very existence then he would have won the game of thrones without a doubt. 11. Benjen Stark disappeared for 6 seasons only to return at the exact moment to save Brann (and later Jon) from certain death, his return not explained in detail, his disappearance taking a backseat and the character then dying without giving no clear explanation. This is the definition of a Deus Ex Machina, Benjen was literally a plot device not once but twice. 12. The scene of the dragonpit in episode 7 season 7 was strange, that is, the place looks very small considering that according to Tyrion's story this same place housed Balerion (who was much bigger than Drogon), added to that, in season 8 episode 5 when Daenerys destroys the city, the population of King's Landing is shocked when they see Drogon, supposedly this is the first time they've seen a dragon in over a century, but there's a problem here, the Dragonpit is located in King's Landing so the population of King's Landing should have already seen Drogon (and Rhaegal) before when Daenerys and Cersei parleyed in 7x7. 13. Some scenes went overboard with fan service. Something that made the first season of GOT mythical was the death of Ned Stark (until then the "main character"), the series moved away from the typical plot where the protagonist ends up winning regardless of the obstacle, the death of Ned Stark sent the precedent that in GOT the good guys don't always win and not everyone gets what they want, the problem was that in the last seasons they ignored this by giving certain characters the opportunity to complete their mission and main objective. The biggest examples are Brienne and the Hound, it is too much of a coincidence that Stannis managed to survive so long only for Brienne to find him in all that pile of corpses and give him the final blow. The Hound on the other hand should have remained dead, as simple as that, his injuries were very serious and he could hardly have survived. Instead DyD decided to keep Stannis alive just so Brienne would be the one to kill him, and the Hound was brought back because they needed to give the fans a fight between Sandor and the Mountain. Something similar happened with Arya who achieved the revenge she always wanted against Walder Frey, however that case is a little different because Arya trained in the arts of assassination so that she could get to Walder Frey without raising suspicion. 14. Littlefinger's death was stupid, what's more, the whole Sansa vs Arya thing was stupid, Littlefinger was the smartest character in the series (if we forget the stupid decision to hand Sansa over to the Boltons), the guy was a master player and It's very evident that D&D just didn't know how to get him off the board consistently because the guy is one of those characters that not even his creator knows how to defeat. To achieve this D&D had to use the ace up their sleeve: Bran, literally the only way to beat Littlefinger was to use the character who has access to the script, it was nice to see him finally die it's true, but it was also disappointing that he was defeated so boring. 15. The final meeting at the Dragonpit was nonsense, it was obvious that Bran would be elected king, How could he not be? Almost everyone present at that meeting was his family or friends. What's more... What position does Gendry occupy in that meeting? Is he the lord of Storm's End? he was supposedly legitimized by Daenerys but the problem is that she was not queen of Westeros at the time, after seeing what she did in King's Landing it seems hard to believe that anyone would support any law or decree that comes from Daenerys. Can the people of Westeros really accept a foreign Queen legitimizing a bastard and making him Lord Paramount of the Stormlands? 16. Stannis left Dragonstone abandoned, Why? Furthermore, why didn't anyone else take control of the castle after that? Daenerys just had to arrive and open the door. It's hard to believe that someone like Stannis (at least in the books) would leave such a symbolic and well-located place abandoned.

I mean, I could almost see them setting the cavalry a mile off to charge through the rear elements of the wights when it was most desperately needed, kinda like when Jon fell off his dragon. But a headlong charge into the mouth of the beast? Stupid

The stupid thing about hiding people in the crypts is how suddenly the undead gain superhuman strength and can easily punch through solid slabs of rock as if they were made out of paper..

The dumbest moment in Game of Thrones was nobody finding new show runners when D&D were clearly not interested in giving GoT what it deserved.

In their heads they thought that having Arya kill the night king was a huge plot twist that would make the audience go holy shit and get a similar effect as that of the red wedding. I'm sure they were really proud when they came up with this shit.

I have a decent idea for why Drogon destroyed the throne instead of killing Jon. (I'm not sure why he wouldn't kill Jon as well, but I do have an idea for why he destroyed the throne.) As we all should know at this point, Dany drove herself mad over becoming the ruler of Westeros. And we all should also know, dragons and their riders have a connection (as we see A LOT more in House of the Dragon) where they can feel each other's emotions and pain. So, Drogon held the throne accountable for driving Dany mad which led to her death, he got upset and destroyed it. If anyone has any counter-opinions or anything I'm missing, feel free to reply! I agree with everything. One thing I would add is the decision to show Theon's transformation to Reek. In the books Theon was gone after he was betrayed by Ramsey (who was a Stark prisoner in the books) and when he came back in ADOD it was such a shocking moment.

I think for me the Night King’s death was the most insulting and stupid moment. Such a compelling and mysterious villain with so much build-up, finally enacting his plans with full force, only to get 360 noscoped in an instant by someone he’d otherwise obliterate instantly. So many interesting questions with so much potential story were erased by some nonsensical ninja bullshit. I felt physical pain watching that. That isn’t an exaggeration.

I completely agree, except for number 16. In my personal opinion, Jamie was so upset over the slaughter of all his troops, and when he saw Daenerys vulnerable, he saw an opportunity to charge and kill her even if it her Dragon definitely would’ve murdered her if he succeeded. Plus it’s just visually stunning. However, I will admit that Daenerys not seeing Bron was very stupid. But possibly maybe she saw bron coming, to save Jamie, but she didn’t see them collapse into the river and so she just assumed that they were burned alive.

Night King: Kills Theon in like 2 seconds right away Also Night King: Holds onto Arya and waits for her to stab him

I would argue that Jaime charging at Danny is not that stupid. There is a literal battle going on around them so no way she would hear him coming and if he is fast enough he could maybe throw his spear at her and kill her. Now that would be a suicide but he would do it protecting his men, he killed the Mad King to stop him from burning down a lot of innocent people and now he tries to save his men from the same fate.

For number 15 they should have had Jon pickup Rickon and bring him back instead of stupidly charging. That would have been much better imo. It would show compassion, restraint, and intelligence all at once. He wouldn’t need plot armor either. It just boggles my brain wondering why they thought Jon would have just left his little brother on the battle field to get trampled.

Can we all just pretend that the true finale was the end of S6 when Dany & co. were seen sailing to Dragonstone? S7 & S8 were a fever dream, and all 3 dragons are still alive.

My personal pet peeve is that Dany didn't start suspecting Jon was a Targaryen when the dragons didn't attack him. Then it turns out he can freaking RIDE Rhaegal, and yet Dany accepts that fact without questioning it. What the hell?

I think my #1 dumbest moment was Arya’s line of dialogue to Jon *after* Daeny had just committed genocide burning down kings landing, where she said “I know a killer when I see one.” I just- can’t get over it.

It would be interesting to do a Top 20 Stupid Moments from Seasons 1-6, or even Top 10 Stupid Moments from each individual season. As much as I love to hate on seasons 7 and 8 with everyone, it would be an interesting take to pick out silly moments from the better seasons!

The real question is "why Gendry"? He's the fastest? Says who? What does that even matter? Does he know the area or terrain? Wouldn't Tormund be a better choice since he lives there? Is the concept of scouts alien to these people? Why, exactly, would you bring a blacksmith on the mission to begin with. He has no training in any aspect of the military or survival.

It's not just the show's quality that dropped, but the audience. I remember watching the show Seasons 1-4 and the only ones interested in the show were book fans and people with the perfectly average mental capacity to keep up with the plot and characters. I'll never forget the typical audience member by the end of the show were women who would watch Daenerys and Drogo/Daenerys and Jon Snow scenes on repeat, and men who only cared about (as SD said at 13:38) "spectacle over logic" "oooh it looks cool!"

An extra aspect that makes Littlefinger's decision to sell Sansa to the Boltons so dumb, is that Littlefinger appears to genuinely care for her, albeit in a creepy way. But GRRM said at one point that he never would have done this, because he really does want to protect Sansa. It's the only mildly redeeming quality in a character that is an utterly despicable villain in every other respect, and to take that away is just stupid.

In my opinion, Rhaegal's death was the worst moment of the whole show for 2 main reasons. 1). It's one of the most ridiculously impossible things in the whole show. George said hitting a dragon from the ground is a one in a million chance and Euron did it 3 times in a row. That's a 1x10^-18 chance of happening (zero point [eighteen zeros] one chance). So Euron hit Rhaegal (a fast moving target) from fucking miles away with medieval artillery on a boat (Probably not the most accurate thing) square in the chest, in the wing and then straight through the neck. All this from behind a cliff so he couldn't even see his target. Not to mention straight after this when Dany and Drogon fly straight at Euron, he can't hit shit despite Drogon being a bigger target and much closer. Same shit next episode no one can aim anymore. 2). It's just terrible from a story standpoint. Viserion's death (As terrible and contrived as that was) had major effects on the story. It completely changes the nature of the threat that the white walkers pose because now the Night King has one of the most powerful creatures in the world as his undead servant and without Viserion, the Night King may have had a tough time getting past the Wall if at all. But Rhaegal? Dany and Drogon take King's Landing without any issues. We don't even get a scene where Jon finds out about Rhaegal's death. Jon and Rhaegal needed a much more developed relationship. Jon being able to ride him shows that not only is he a Targaryen, but that Dany isn't the only one who can control the dragons. Much of Dany's power has come from her being the only one who could control the dragons but now that power has been reduced. Imagine how great it could have been if Jon think's that (believable) mad queen Dany can't be queen and she's like well I have 2 dragon's so who cares what you think. Then Rhaegal sides with Jon and now both sides have a dragon. Boom conflict / drama ensues. The deaths of the dragons should have been so impactful and emotional. Viserion died because Jon had a berserker rampage for some ungodly reason and Rhaegal died because Jack Sparrow if he was played by Nicholas Cage and Ron Jeremy no scoped him out of the sky for cheap gasps from the audience and ultimately has no impact on the story. And that leaves poor Drogon alone to demonstrate his Sansa level intellect and burn the Iron Throne because he understands the deep symbolism behind the throne and how that it was the true enemy of Westeros that ultimately left Jon with no choice but to Kill Dany but it's all G, Drogon understands Jon's dilemma. Either that or Drogon saw a knife in his mother and attacked the closest pile of knives (My head cannon). Such a shame that the most popular and well known dragons in pop culture don't go out with an explosive bang leaving a mark on the audience forever, but with ridiculous death's and forced scenes that ultimately mean nothing.
