The only 2 I'm actually interested in as I'm a pretty casual jrpg fan, but man am I hyped for Re:fantazio. I quite liked Persona 5, but I wasn't the biggest fan of the setting. When Persona 6 comes out, I'll probably skip it as I'm not really that keen on hanging out in a Japanese high school or shopping district in between dungeons again. Re:Fantazio looks like it could be my favorite turn based game for all of next year.

Loved it both on ps1 and the remaster on psp. Hopefully well finally get star ocean 2s sequel Blue Sphere which never made it to the u.s.

There are so many good announcements this year, I'll be picking up the Atlas and Marvelous releases for definite. Baten Kaitos has a very special place in my heart and I still have my GC copy as well, beautiful art style and I really liked the characters in it.

Star Ocean The Second Story R, Metaphor, Deca Police, and CryMachina are my top picks from this list. Currently trying to get into the Star Ocean series by playing First Departure R before Second Story R comes out in November.

Went to my local gamestop and preordered star ocean 2 yesterday. Can not wait to play it. I also want to play the first star ocean too if I can get to it. I am gleefully awaiting my copy of the Rhapsody sequels and am also very excited to play Rhapsody 1 again. And also more Rune Factory. I still haven't played my copy of RF 4 Special but I did buy the Special Edition for RF 3 recently. Because I felt like it. And then there is Nayuta and a few others. This year is an amazing year for RPG fans worldwide. I am currently playing the Ys 4 Remake on my PC and I think I got pretty far already. I love the forging, since you can just put cool effects on your weapon and have an easier time in battle. But yeah, I am very hyped for Star Ocean and recently bought SO 4 on steam. I heard that game was kinda hard but I hope I can get through it somehow. But Rune Factory looks amazing as well. There is so much stuff to look forward to. Although my wallet is crying from all the money I'm spending. But I can live with that! I just want to play JRPGs!

SO2 probably is my most played jrpg on the original ps1 since its the only game i tried getting all of claudes and rena unique endings and pairings and now that its getting a remake i will definitely buy it on the 1st day it releases

I'm happy to see your channel being more active. thanks for the info! so happy that us - jRPG lovers - are getting so many new titles and remakes. I was so upset with the p3p "remake", but p3RE feels like an amazing and real remake. I'm also interested about the Microsoft "pokemon with guns" game) can't remember the title but it's interesting how they managed to develop something like that 🤔

Crymachina is definitely a buy for me. I must say a lot of stuff looks very interesting, but a lot of them have no platform announced and no release date. Another one I am looking forward to is The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails. This is a updated and more polished version of the old one that was released years ago. However - I won't lie, two of the titles I really looking forward to the coming days and weeks are no JRPG's. They are Baldurs Gate 3 from Larian Studios and Starfield from Bethesda. While I am a JRPG gamer primarily, those two upcoming titles are too much for me to resist. I am fully guilty in that respect...

Star Ocean 2nd is damn amazing, the visual in the remastered so beautiful, i could not finish it before, the almost final boss is damn hard ( forgot his name )

Sadly no release date for DecaPolice in the September Direct so I’m not expecting it to stay a 2023 release

i just complete trails into reverie 2 week ago now i now only waiting for star ocean 2 remake to drop on november because maybe the star ocean series will be my next series to play because i decide to taking a break from trails series after a lot of NISA drama around reverie and maybe until kuro drop .

@NaNoRarh well i fight through the post game reverie corridor and watch all of the daydreams including the one foreshadowing Calvard arc in about 1 and a half week after the game comeout , I think it because i play alot of trails game and the fan patch Hajimari before so it not a big deal to me , and I'm not want to spoiler to you there is a seriously bad localization change and item like Quarzt, craft and art are missing a lot of text for the meaning so yeah right now the translation is not good

@NaNoRarh Yeah right now the quality of the official translation jn NISA release are not good because of some issue maybe it will be patch in the future but yeah right now it still have a lot of issue and mistranlatin like character note in the book menu to the point that on my playthrought i try to ignore all of it to enjoy the game but along the way it appears a lot and i can ignore it anymore 😅

im excited for crymachina and fate samurai remnant the most. i would be excited for blade zero more but i doubt thats coming out in 2023. that said there is so much to play this year still and i cant wait.

They had listings for the Persona 3 remake in Switch but then they all disappeared. I'm guessing they are going to release it for the next Nintendo console which rumors are saying 2024.

FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time also announced this year? Can’t wait for a release date for DecaPolice. I got like 6 of these games already preordered. My wallet is gonna need a break at the end of the year depending on how soon FFVII Rebirth is released

Probably delayed to 2024 with Decapolice. These games had zero marketing sinxe their reveal trailer. It's too much late to market them for this year. 2023 is already packed 😅

I just hope a lot of these RPG’s announced are turn based. I’m tired of seeing all my favorite RPGs going action-RPG. A little innovation in the genre would be icing on the cake.

So few turn based games, really worried for future of RPGs. sick of block, parry, evade action games that only skill needed is reaction speed. I miss having some tactical thinking over repetitive 3 button combat

What? I think there was at least 5. Yakuza 8, Metaphor Refantazio, Persona 5 Tactica, Persona 3 Remake, Baton Kiatos 1 and 2 remaster. Also maybe Suikdoen 1 and 2 will come out still this year. A few others I think I missed.

Marl Kingdom DecaPolice ReFantazio Baten Kaitos P5: Phantom X P3R Like A Dragon 8 Super Mario RPG Then consider that 4 of these we don't know even know what the gameplay will be yet. So 8 out of 18 isn't bad at all.

God willing, we'll hear something about Kuro no Kiseki before too long. I figure we got Reverie 3 years after Japan do next fall would be three years for Kuro.

If they plan to dub kuro it might wait until 2025. I heard nis is going to release a english pc port of kuro with no dub so that might hit 2024.

@@SuiteLifeofDioBrando Why would they not dub Kuro? Not doing so would hurt the game immensely after dubbing the last 5 games. And splitting it up into 2 release over a language option is confusing af

With the announcement of Square Enix now working with Xbox, I hope Marvelous will also be working with them to bring Rune Factory to Xbox as well. The games come out on PC, so why not Xbox?

Unfortunately, concept art only shows so much. Until we see some in-game trailers, we can only guess. As long as they don't do another Loop 8 and keep it fairly simple, then they might be on to something.

The game I’m most looking forward to this year has to be the Suikoden 1 & 2 remasters. There’s a ton of good games coming out this year that I’m excited for, but Suikoden is one of my favorite series of all time, along with final fantasy. So the eating is good this year lol.

Does Rune Factory 6 end up just like Fire Emblem Fates ? err I mean that guy said east vs. west ,so i thought of Hoshido and Nohr. Anyway, I hope it will end up on multi-platforms instead of just Switch this time.

Crymachina looks really interesting, but hearing that it’s supposed to be a kinda spiritual successor to Crystar has me a bit nervous. Crystar was one of those games that I thought had cool ideas, but the execution just wasn’t there, and I ended up walking away quite disappointed. I’ll wait for reviews before I decide if Crymachina is worth my money or not.

I was watching this and about halfway through I started thinking to myself, "The concepts behind every one of these games is just boring... Pointless fictional worlds and cliche plot devices that serve no real purpose other than mindless distraction. The game that I'm currently developing utilizes occult psychological methods aimed at TRANSFORMING THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL LIFE OF THE PERSON PLAYING IT, in way that almost no one has ever attempted before." A few seconds later, the video shifts to METAPHOR: REFANTASIO. The visuals of that game had recently caught my eye above all the others, but it almost stunned me when the narration said this: “Director Katsura Hashino stated that his idea of fantasies derive from an idea that it does more than immerse us in empty worlds of fiction; They exist because there’s something about our world that we want to change, and they help us imagine something new.” Now I'm even more curious about where that one is going.

Sand Land was popular back when it released. The only reason it didn't get the same acclaim as his other works is because it was literally finished in one volume as compared to his other works which were far longer.

*Sigh*. Samurai Remnant. I want to look forward to it so bad. But because I love the Fate series so much -- I'm a huge myth and legend guy -- I can't help but worry even in advance. I've just been so, so, so disappointed by everything that's come from the series of late. It feels like everything that comes out of FGO these days just punishes you for actually investing in the series-wide lore. And Samurai Remnant... I feel very worried it'll still capitalize on the same trends. Just the fact that Data Lost is in the game despite being Data Lost leaves me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Of the rest, nothing catches my eye immediately, but I do have a lot on my backlog anyway as I wrap up Sky the 3rd and move on to Crossbell. As ever, thanks for the video!

Outside of the anime and visual novel, I don't know much else about Fate. I'll definitely get it though, it looks like a solid ARPG at the very least.

@@TheKisekiNut Oh - Noting wrong with that. I personally don't play mobile stuff because 99% of it is just money grabs. And on top of that, I really don't like squinting at a small screen when playing a game. I just can bare the size of a Steam Deck, but anything smaller is just not fun for me. That said - I sure look forward to your thoughts about it when you try it out. I love your video's here on KZfaq, so keep up that great work...
