It's not a vlog this week but instead one of my occasional "slow TV" real-time recordings from the bow camera, with super stereo audio from the microphone also on the bow. This is my trip from above Gailey down to Autherley with only one tiny edit where I had to change the camcorder battery.

Due to construction work, I currently have a busy bus stop on my doorstep. So yesterday I took a 65 "display and installed it in the kitchen window. Then I ran this video from 6:30 am to noon. On average there were a dozen or so people with their backs to the bus stop. Some have probably missed their bus. This morning 5x people rang the bell and asked why there is no river video today. I think that is high praise for you.

I’m sure many have said they enjoy the “not a vlogs”. But I find them so beneficial to personal health. Just cruising along as if I were there in your well deck watch the birds. Like the heron that flew just before Calf Heath Bridge No 77. Wow so peaceful. 😎👍

I have been a fan of his VLOG virtually since the beginning. Given that I live in a huge country totally bereft of narrowboats, and personally reside in the nearly flat state of KANSAS with almost no natural lakes (but several large reservoirs) and few suitable rivers, I find it relaxing, enjoyable and informative. I am among your most loyal followers. The closest thing to narrowboating in the USA is houseboating, including its basic and most economical form, SHANTYBOATING - a growing hobby in the Southern part of the country. Shantyboats are at most 20 ft long, 8 ft, wide, very basic construction and powered by a small outboard motor. It's one big room, perhaps a curtained private area, a small heating and cooking stove, rudimentary kitchen and the rest is sleeping and living. Shantyboaters spend a lot of time chattering on CB radios. Smaller used units can be had for $2,000 dollars or less. Most are self-built and look like it, and this is part of their charm for devotees. Houseboating, on the other hand, can include large "homes on the water" and the US is full of suitable lakes and reservoirs. I am a few hundred miles from the legendary Lake of the Ozarks, a very large, wide dammed section of river with many tributaries with thousands of miles of shoreline. Some popular models can be 100 ft long, 12 ft or more. wide and have all the amenities of a fancy wide narrowboat, and some extreme models can run $250,000 A suitable family boat for summer use may be 32 ft long, 8 ft. wide and sell used for $50,000 including a trailer. Family-sized boats are trailerable and can be moved from location to location over the road, often with an ordinary pickup truck. None of what we have here, however, is comparable to the closeness, comradery and unique historical heritage land subculture of narrowboating in the UK. I, among many others, envy you for this. Your lifestyle is very appealing to many Americans but entirely unavailable here in the US. I've checked out most of the regular narrowboat VLOGS and for my tastes CRUISING THE CUT is by far the best (aside from the dearth of attractive young ladies). I have watched every one of them and have learned so very much, not just about narrowboating but many other things as well. Thank you ever so much for what you have given us here in the USA. I am watching one of your longer slow-moving VLOGS without dialogue as I write this. Laird Wilcox

Your videos calm patients and clients, they put down their phones and you can just see the stress leave them if only for a few minutes. I plan to add the bread making video next week for some humor. Anyone who inquires is referred to your KZfaq channel and urged to subscribe. ❤

Before I stumbled over your blog, I didn't even knew that Britain has a canal net, the canal and river trust and huge amounts and different kinds of traditional narrow boats and boaters. I remember one Peep Show episode where Mark and Jeremy drove one, but as a Kraut I did not realise the huge cultural importance. I'm a little bored and maybe burned out, sick of society, corona hystery and despotism and am dreaming from sort of a van life. Whenever the weather is good I pick my bike and the tent and drive through the landscape, sleeping in various places. This channel is pure relaxation and education for me, when the weather is not bike worthy and maybe, just maybe, you'll become one of the reasons for me to migrate to Britain and become a boater myself one day.

Hi David, I just wanted to say that your videos have become a regular and great resource in dealing with the stresses of CV19. About 2 weeks ago, while having difficulty sleeping, I put my laptop on the bed next to me, and started one of the Slow TV "Not-a-vlogs" at a low volume.Watching the video, I was son asleep. Feeling transported to the canals of the UK has become one of my regular stress reducers (& not just while trying to sleep!).

You probably didn’t notice me sitting up there but I assure you I was earning my keep shooing those nervy swans out of the boat’s path. Excellent 4K video and awesome sound. I am playing the video on my 4K 5.1 Surround Sound System. The birds sound like they exist in my Florida room. Under one of the bridges there was the sound of splashing water. I was hoping you didn't fall in. Surprising that they don't have a dead-man's switch for when the captain falls overboard to kill the engine. Unfortunately, I didn't see any bathing beauties in this video. 👍
