Thank You for showing us this and the Part Numbers. I can do these recalls on our Ford Edge. Former Ford Tech myself. My wife drives the vehicle daily. As such I keep a fairly good eye on things.

Thank you. Working on a friends fusion 16. It’s very difficult to get in there without taking off the radiator hose first. So I think I’ll take it to the dealership for the recall work. I don’t think I can get in there and pop that lock open with hose still attached. Thanks so much for this. Your explanation and the video helped tremendously.

Thanks! I have this recall that needs to be done on both of our cars. Both are 2013 C-Max Energi models. It's nice to know what the dealer is going to have to do for this recall. I noticed the labor was 0.8 hour on the C-Max. Must have more to remove.

Thanks, maybe my dealer service department will have these recall kits in at or around the same time as the parts they need to rebuild the transmission.

ford loves those cheap made bushings.i cant tell you how many i seen were shot on the tv cable connections for AOD's back in the day.obviously the slack took its toll on the trannys after a while.a problem often overlooked.its crazy its still happening today, when ford knows there importance.

Mines just gave out last night. I put the shifter fully in park and the vehicle was actually in reverse. Started to roll a little. Shifter became stuck also. I found this red release tab underneath the shifter to to release the shifter, but it would only shift from neutral to drive, and I could only release the shifter via the red tab. Used the emergency brake for park. Today the cable came completely off while in drive. Had to tie it down with green floral wire. I secured it pretty good. works for now.. the weird thing is my recall letter was sitting in my mailbox when this started.. I'll be making my appointment tomorrow

Man my Mustang has 2 pending recalls and my Escape this one, just in for oil and brakes and they didnt have these. Reminds me of the Takata recalls on my old car "theres a problem but we may have parts sometime..."

Just had this done on my 13 Escape.

Got love it as I got a notice from Ford for my wife's escape 16 for this but yet to get a call to bring it in cause the can't get the bushings but Rich has them. Lol. I have been working on cars, trucks an own my own shop an sucks when I call to see about the recall an get told they don't have them lmao. Thanks for sharing bud.

I remember back in HS in the mid 90a, being the washrat, ford had these type of all the time, the had "while it's in for service" put these on. I don't remember recalls getting the mass media attention like they do now...

Same one that my wife's 2014 escape needs to be done. Then there is door latch recall but it has instructions "IF" owner wants to check. She's like you can do this I'm like REALLY If I check they better be paying me. They can do it when you take it in for 1st recall. One for my 2015 Mustang for brake pedal bumper if my car in hot and humid area of country

Mother in law has to have hers done. I just cleaned about a pound of fender liner out of the blower motor the other day. Good times. 16 escape

Had mine done a couple months ago. Then the other day it would not shift. Turns out the bushing was never fully connected (just was hanging right over it). While I got a 2014 Fusion Hybrid the video give me an idea of what to look for (lucky for me mine is right up front so no disassembly of anything). Thanks.

I have a 2019 ford edge st I know there’s no recall but if I got a message on my dash saying Shift system fault, would this be an option for me to change out the bushing

I am having exactly the same issue with my 2008 1.6l Focus powershift automatic transmission. But no recall information for this particular year and model, at least in my country (Turkey). Can you verify that this bushing and cap are also compatible with 2008 automatic Focus?

I replaced mine on my 2015 Ford Escape, it was an orange one (the new one I installed), plus I installed that cap. Do I need to replace it again to this yellow one? Thank you for the information.

is this interchangeable with the 2012 fusions with v6? my neighbor is having the issue of it not going into park and rolling. but it's not on the recall list. also is the protective cap the same part number on the older recall?

My 2016 escape brushing just went out today.

Do dealers check cars for recall that are in for service or do you have to request it.

My 2017 Ford Escape titanium, while parked at a restaurant, was hit on the back side of the driver side. It was moved about 18 inches towards the curb. I was still able to drive it away but the ! and the control light both went on. Took it to the body shop and had repair done on it, but the ! and wheel control were still on. What would this signify on the lights?

Too many recalls on this make and model - already had 2 major things with mine which a family member is driving now - and I had it under warranty - one issue wasn’t a recall but should have been- was a fuel sensor and shutting off and I had to research it and told them what I found online of another person who couldn’t get Ford to help him - finally the guy at garage checked fuel sensor on his and that was it - - and I had to pay for one part - back then - crazy- they should have been put together correctly at the factory 🙄

Just had this recall done on 19 escape. Can no longer shift into "sport/ manual ". Stops shifting at "D" Drive. Normal for bushing replacement recall?

Hi could this missing bushing have damaged my transmission ? I put the vehicle in park heard a knock noise from the engine when I came back to the vehicle put it in drive. My transmission was damaged after watching your video. I went to check my car and the bushing was missing because there is a recall on this issue, and would it caused damage to my transmission and would Ford be liable to fix it?

What model years does this apply to for the Ford edge?.

Can we get the part and install it ourselves per the recall?

Bro some lady got towed in on Saturday and that part is back Order out here I used a rubber hose a grommet. Idk I think I was van of sort lol

Does that effect the Lincoln counterpart?

I’ve replace that part but still have to use bypass to engage the shifter. What the fix for that?

That white plastic clip came out/broke on me springs went flying! Now what do I do? Replace the shifter cable?

Has Ford released this to all dealers? Last time I called no fix was out yet.

I had this recall fixed at a dealership and now my horn no longer works. Any chance this is a coincidence? Could something have been unplugged under there?

Brother can you help me out? I ha e a 2011 eleven ford fusion it won't go into reverse until you giggle it in and the orange light come on reverse and sometimes you have to hold it in reverse

What happens if it's popped back on while in park position

Did they make the plastic this time out of a heat resistant or heat proof plastic this time? DELRIN would the perfect plastic DELRIN DOES NOT DRY OUT as it can handle alot more heat than the engine and transmission emits

Maybe the supplier of the bushing cheaped and used lower grade of plastic? Color change to show which bushing is on the vehicle. Too much plastic used for applications that should only use metal parts. All about saving that 2 cents

Sorry Rich for the complaint.. so glad I don't have to deal with the 2017 "fix or repair daily" Edge I once had. I really liked the vehicle for what it was despite a couple of quirks but that company is the absolute pits when it came to service. The worse decision I ever made buying one of their products.. must be a bunch of shtbag democraps running the show there.
