Having used both a Geringhoff and a John Deere chopping head,the Geringhoff used much less horspower and did a better job of chopping.Went back to JD because we could not get the Geringhoff to work in wet,downed corn.Now they say just take the stationary knife off in bad conditions.

My dad has the toy collectable of the case combine, also i do believe that's the combine we have on Farming Simulator 17, possibly 19, but as you were talking about tracks, it makes the vehicle look badass too, lol. But my dad worked on a farm back in the day, he drove them big 4x4 tractor, he said if your not paying attention, you could drive through a house without knowing it, that right there tells you how much serious power is under that hood, but awesome video my friend, keep them coming.

These machines offer allot of power. The 9240 combine has as much horse power as the third largest Steiger 4wd. The 9240 is being replaced by the 9250 in 2019. I would like FS19 will have a 9250.
@cameronkinnan6697
@cameronkinnan6697 5 жыл бұрын
That's why i love farming vehicles, just the amount of power and everything in between, its crazy, back when the first gas powered engines were put into those tractors, power like that wasn't heard of, but when the big 4x4 tractors were introduced, power like that was needed to turn those big wheels, its remarkable how far farming vehicles has become. But as to fs19, we should have a full garage by next month or end of next month. But whatever happens, happens.

Always been leery of no till but this year with a number of our own pastures looking like they could do with a top up with clover and grasses as well as being asked to improve the grasses of a pair of fields we have just started renting we decided to get a secondhand direct drill and so far we have been really pleased with the job to the point of doing double the acres we were going to do. Looking at that head it really does do a good job and I could see the benefits for those who would still want to till as it would be a lot easier to incorporate the residue into the soil

No till works well. Today’s heavy hydraulics can push the seed down. Tillage is good too to break down stalks.

i run a geringhoff PZ (today its caller PCA) witch is an earlier version of this slicing-up-tecnic alongside the stalks. the problem is, it is a single-roller version with firmly mounted knives, so the roller has to push the stalks trough the knives. the consequence is, that after a while, when the roller-comb and the knives becomes outworn, it kills the gear or the roller-shaft. the turning blade-roller of the rota-disc prevent this problems, but its heavier and more expensive...

Hey Big Tracter - Got a question When these 40 ft corn heads are opening up a field thats 1/2 mile + long how are they emptying the hopper on the combine /. Will the unloading auger work at say 1/3 of its full radius of extension
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 5 жыл бұрын
I can make a video on this some time. When they open up a section and the combine fills up and there is no where to unload they stop a few feet before they are completely full. They back up and move over and cut another swath along side the first pass. Then the grain cart can pull up and the combine can unload. Then the cart backs up and the combine returns to the original pass.

Why do they sow winter wheat into the corn stubble and not no till it into the soybean stubble?
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 5 жыл бұрын
Because soybeans are planted right behind the wheat combine. Wheat fields make two crops in one year with wheat in June and soybeans in October. As a result corn always follows beans. So if your farm is 2,000 acres it produces 3,000 acres of crops a year.

Yeah but you can’t go very fast on tracks on a combine
@bigtractorpower
@bigtractorpower 5 жыл бұрын
In the field they run as fast as tires. Some tracked combines like the Claas TT series can run 25 mph on the road.

bigtractorpower oh well the guy that I work for the combine doesn’t go very fast on road he only goes like 16 so going from one end of the county to the other is like a road trip
