In this video Big Tractor Power spends time out in the field with two CLAAS Lexion 760 TT Combines equipped with 16 row corn heads. These 543 hp 385 bu. class 9 combines each process 5,000 bu. of corn per hour. In order to keep the corn harvest rolling non-stop this farm uses a DEMCO 1050 Grain cart to move corn from the combines to the waiting trucks.

Every time I see a Kinze grain cart I think of the big Kress coal haulers. The next steps in grain cart evolution are going to see them become even more similar. It's slightly intimidating to think about the volume of grain that combines in 5-10 years will require to be moved away. Certainly road legal transport is going to be the bottleneck sooner or later, when you can add only more trucks instead of larger trailers you also spend more time maneuvering and unloading. Quite interesting.

Brilliant video, I've got my doubts about the Demco trailer as it is carrying a lot of weight on a single axle, I would have expected a double axle with flotation tyres or a track arrangement so as to spread the load and reduce ground compaction , the trailer it emptied into spread the load much better. Why does CLAAS use a different livery on some of its Combines, it's more like a Caterpillar livery. All the very best regards, Kevin Fox ,Essex, London.

Claas first entered the U.S. market in 1966 providing FORD with combines. The two combines worked together through 1979. From 1980 to 1986 FORD dealers sold blue Claas combines with a sold and services by Ford sticker. When Ford acquired New Holland In 1986, Claas North America was formed and sought new dealers to sell seed green machines. In 1998 Caterpillar worked with Claas to Develop the Terra Trac combine and CAT sold Caterpillar branded Lexions in the US and Claas sold seed green Challenger tractors in Europe. In 2001 Cat sold Challenger to AGCO. Claas dropped the CAT name in the US but kept selling yellow Lexions. In August 2019 Claas North America announced seed green combines for North America. The yellow 760s in this video are an end of a 21 year era for Lexion. Now they are all the same color world wide. I made a video on Caterpillar combine history that is posted at kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n9p3gZOjvL-Uc2Q.html

The downside to more compact graincarts like the Demco is the way they are balanced, they can bounce around all to hell because of the way they sit almost perfectly on the axle, where as a tilt auger cart is usually more tongue heavy, and will always have weight on the drawbar, and therefor have much less bouncing around and wear to the tongue

I’ve seen a lot of guys in Nebraska will typically have 1300 bushel carts but they only load it to 1000 bushels or so. It is easier on the combine operator and cart driver if you don’t have to load it to the absolute max. Also assured they can fill the truck while emptying out the cart completely and not having to wait for another truck.

Claas is impressive. With two combines in this field cranking out 10,000 bu an hour there are only so many trucks and drivers to haul it away and only so much drier capacity to put the corn in to the bins. They might be able to dial it up but then everything would be sitting after a while.
