In this video I’m mixing up the Owatrol cell activator we used and experimented with in video 238. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!

PRODUCTS USED IN THIS VIDEO:
Owatrol Cell Activator Recipe:
20ml (4 Tsp) Owatrol Easy Flow
5ml (1 Tsp) Amsterdam Titanium White
10 ml (2 Tsp) Lineco PVA Glue (or substitute a different glue if you need to)
5ml - 15ml (1 - 3 Tsp) Distilled water (start with 5ml and as you are testing add drops as needed to thin until you get the response you want)
5 drops Oil Owatrol
As stated in video 238 where we experimented with 3 different Owatrol based Cell Activators, you could substitute the 5 drops of Oil Owatrol for either of the below (SEPARATELY!) as well to experiment with:
5 drops Minwax Prestain Conditoner oil based (or an equivalent you have local to you to experiment with)
OR:
1 drop silicone (whatever silicone you use, experiment with more drops if you like, the initial experiment used 1 drop only)

Watched this even though I will never use it since I don't paint. Hoping it will help your channel. But Jodie, you wore your jewelry while mixing. That made me nervous, girl! I especially liked when you said this is painting, not baking. Hahaha. Yeah, I don't bake, either. 🍞 Enjoyed this unexpected, mid-week dose of Jodie. Haha! I know, mixing was okay, I’m pretty careful with my jewelry through 🤗. I do bake and it does have to be more exact than painting so I think it’s funny to use that reference, if anything it makes me laugh 😂💜💜💜

Nice to see your kitchen chemistry mix-up. Great to hear you using ml :). I really appreciate your style of clear explanation. One thing I do in addition (that you probably do but didn't mention) is I have a dedicated paint journal notebook (its an A5 size drawing / watercolors heavy paper book) with sections dedicated to cell activator, paints, pillow, and techniques. Every time I try something I jot it down in the book, including my thoughts on the results. For paints, I will do a thumb swipe of every new paint and then label it for reference. I also number my canvases on the back, just sequential, and cross reference these numbers into the notes so I can look back and see what technique I used on which piece.

Thanks a lot I found from your videos my question, I have a doubt respect silicone oil and other tile of varnish or oil containing silicone, only the silicone as it’s need to be washed out of the surface we paint u all theme? Hopeful you see this question and thanks for yours answer

Thank you Jodie. How did the cell activator with the Owatrol Oil perform on your painting? What do you use to remove the Owatrol Oil from the dried acrylic painting before varnishing?

I absolutely adore that necklace you have on, did you make it?? It's caught my eye for the past 2 videos lol I'm glad you did this video it's a lot like your oil based minwax prestain recipe now with the silicone oil do you just use it in the same way in place of the owatrol oil?? 5 drops? I could have sworn you only used one drop of silicone oil so I'm a little confused 🤔 I don't have owatrol but I have American floetrol and Aussie floetrol (which we all know all you need is paint added to make that one work) but I'd like to see an American floetrol silicone oil or owatrol oil cell activator recipe video cuz lately I haven't had time to do much I'm working on a huge project (atleast it's huge for me lol) a 24"*24" MDF table top that's 3/4" thick and weighs a ton or 2 and I'm doing an underwater scene all in skins so I did a couple skin videos then I'm going to do a cutting and removing video then a putting it onto the board video and finally a resin video to pull it all together into one big video 😂 so much work involved in this one but I think my end result will be amazing atleast I hope and I have to thank you for using silver cell activator a few videos back cuz I put it under my white ca and it really made the underwater look magical I'm really in love with it right now thanks to you for always testing to see what things do!! 🥰🤗🎨

Thank you, it’s actually a Larimar stone so no I didn’t make it 🤗. For the silicone I used 1 drop only, I did mention it in the video and it’s also in the description box below this video and in the corresponding video if you want to experiment with it and US floetrol 🤗 have fun!

@@ThePaintedDreamer lol leave it to me to miss it, I might have been distracted when you mentioned it so that's on me I did try it with silicone oil but I think you got better results with owatrol but I didn't use glue and water I just used American floetrol and one drop silicone oil ahh it's fun to play around but I think I'll stick to Aussie 😂 I do love that necklace though I couldn't tell if it was a stone or not from the video but thank you so much for all your brilliant tests and videos I'll always be a Jodie fan 🤗🥰🎨

Hi Jody, if I could ask you another question please....I tried this and didn't do so well. I'm sure it was my fault. I'm wondering which you think would work better....if you had tried the deep trip base/poly/mix or the paint with the owatrol. I didn't do well with the owatrol and maybe it was the type of paint I used. Did you mix Paint/OW/H2O or Paint/H2O plus glue also? (H2O to consistency I assume for both paint/PM mix and CA both). I'm gong to give this another go. My Owatrol came with TONS of string clumps! I did strain first. Going for it again. I'm rusty after 8 months of being away plus using a new flotrol. Lord, I don't mean to be such a pain. thanks xo (p.s. did watch your other mixing video(s). always) I feel ridiculous being so confused with this. 😟

This was merely an experiment to see if it could be used as a cell activator to create cells similar to what you may get using any of the other floetrols. I don’t have a lot of knowledge with it but what was shared in the initial video and the mixing video. I mentioned in the video that this will be an experiment for those choosing to use it going forward, you may have to adjust it to what you are using with it and experiment with it. How I mixed everything I explained in the original video as well as listing it in detail in the description box below the video. It’s just going to take some experimentation on your part to see how you can get it to work for you and what you want to create. 💜

From the first owatrol video I thought you had mixed owatrol with just minwax wd conditioner. No glue...correct? I just want to check on the way I understood that. Thanks :-)

The recipes for all three owatrol cell activators that I tested are down below in the description box so you can see exactly what was used. I used the glue in all three. Similar to my US floetrol recipe where I also use glue. You can certainly try it without if you don’t have it, I just think it added a bit more of a binder in there with it.
