In this video I’m experimenting with Owatrol to see how it can work for your cell activator in the blooms and swipe techniques. I hope this video is helpful and inspiring for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it!

PRODUCTS USED IN THIS VIDEO:
Pillow Paint:
PPG Multi-Pro White/Pastel Base in Eggshell: Found at Home Depot (off the shelf). Alternatively for a white house paint you want a low sheen (satin or eggshell but not flat) interior white wall paint.
Pouring Medium Mix:
Owatrol Easy Flow (this is Europe’s floetrol version as opposed to the Flood Floetrol available in North America & Australia): in the US found on Amazon or owatrolusa.com, otherwise in Europe 😊
Acrylic Paints:
Golden Heavy Body Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold & Permanent Violet Dark
Pebeo Studio Acrylics Iridescent Blue Green & Blue Black
PM to Paint measurement (ESTIMATE!):
45ml (1.5oz) PM to between 1.25ml (1/4 tsp) to a 2.5ml (1/2 tsp) paint to start (for heavy body paint, softer paint may need a little more). If too thin add a little more paint, if too thick add a little more PM to thin.
Cell Activator Components:
Amsterdam Titanium White
Owatrol Easy Flow
Lineco PVA Glue (or other glue if you don't have it Lineco)
Distilled Water
ONE of the following oil components, or try all three as separate recipes if you want!:
Oil Owatrol
Minwax Pre-Stain Conditioner, oil based (or a substitute that is local to you)
Silicone Oil
Owatrol CA Recipe:
20ml (4 tsp) Owatrol Easy Flow
5ml (1 tsp) Amsterdam Titanium White
10 ml (2 tsp) Lineco PVA Glue (or substitute a different glue if you need to)
5ml - 15ml (1 - 3 tsp) Distilled water (start with 5ml and as you are testing add drops as needed to thin until you get the consistency and response you want with your cells)
Next is the oil component to add to the above Owatrol Base CA, choose ONE for each recipe, you don't add all three into it unless you want to lol!:
5 drops Owatrol Oil OR;
5 drops Minwax Prestain Conditoner oil based (or an equivalent you have there to experiment with) OR;
1 drop silicone (whatever silicone you use, experiment with more drops if you like, this experiment used 1 drop)
