246th Marine Corps Birthday Message

2 жыл бұрынOn November 10, 2021, U.S. Marines around the globe celebrate a 246-year legacy of battlefield prowess defined by courage, discipline, loyalty, perseverance, adaptability, leadership, and warfighting innovation.
The annual birthday message delivered by the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. David H. Berger, and the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, Sgt. Maj. Troy Black, acknowledges the generation of Marines who joined after the terrorist attacks of 9/11, who later served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and who now approach their retirement milestone.
It also highlights the culture of innovation being cultivated by Marine leaders to enable the Marine Corps to remain America’s force in readiness-prepared to fight and win in every clime and place.

I retired after 30 years as a Marine, and I wish could do it all again even though I'm physically broken. I will always love my Corps, but even more so, those exceptional selfless men and women I served with. Semper Fi.

You'd be shocked to know that bout 1/2 of em who did that are "Marines" while the other half are mealteam six, or the "I almost enlisted" guys who play COD 24/7 trying pass themselves off as Marines hoping no one calls em out on it smmfh. These days, sadly there's no low some scrubs won't sink to smmfh.

My father is 61 this year, he told me once when we were discussing the possibility of the country going to war. That he doubts they'd ever need him, but if the country ever called, hed answer. Hes lost a leg in an industrial accident, hes diabetic, and hes getting old. But that young devil dog is still in there. The warrior still lurks beneath the surface of this humble man. He taught me what it meant to be a man and a marine long before I could appreciate either. Now I think I'm a real man, so the next stop is Paris island to find out. It maybe true about the title and transformation of becoming a United States Marine. But be proud of your achievements and remember that you still raised your hand for your country giving a blank check of a max payment of your life for those you love. You’re part of the long history of those that came before. Like the post before mine said the ones before you were on Normandy facing the same lost and hardships as the rest of the world. You now carry on that tradition and heritage.

I was career and retied USAF, but I have many brothers in the Marines in the deployments we jointly served. The Marines took my first born daughter, now a SSgt, my twin nieces and a nephew. God bles the US Marine Corp and God bless America. Oorah! 🇺🇸

This will be my first USMC birthday. I overcame adversity in all walks of life. I had a brain tumor right after highschool and thought my life was over. Thank the Lord I overcame. The pills knocked me down, made me gain aover 100 pounds of unwanted weight and emotion and a loss of drive to live. After the tumor subsided to benign status, I woke up one day at college and said... Marine Corps. Drove over to the recruiters office at over 300 pounds, told them nothing except for my want to change my life. 10 months later, here I am, earned the title, and proudly wear my uniform to be the best I can possibly be. I owe the USMC my life, as much as any other. Thank you Marines, for giving me hope and a second shot to live. Rah.
