For me an everyday watch needs to be slim, not too large and with preferably black dial. I think the explorer is an excellent option and a keeper. Congrats on your new watch

Congratulations man! Remember, the money that you spent is not gone. It’s only relocated. The money is still there in the watch. You could easily sell it and get most of it back. It’s an investment. Enjoy it.wear it! Don’t be afraid to wear it! It will get a few scratches but that is ok. It’s ment to be worn, not only taken out for special occasions. Wear the hell out it and enjoy it every day! I have three Rolex watches that I purchased on the grey market. My last Rolex, a Steel Datejust, with a jubilee bracelet and a fluted bezel was purchased from the authorized dealer in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was such a cool experience that I had never before experienced. Additionally, I just have a strong sense of security that it is real and the AD will stand behind it if there are any problems. I'm going with the AD in the future, as I hate to worry if I got a fake until it goes through its first service. I never did buy a fake, so I guess I was lucky, but it was totally different that the second hand market...

Congrats. I love mine. Back in April I was in Florence. On the Ponte Vecchio bridge there is a Rolex AD. I spotted a Explorer I on display, went back 45 mins after and it was gone. Forget about any other steel sport watches. The only way appears to be grey market.

Fantastic choice with the explorer 39! I have one myself as well as several other more expensive Rolex's but the explorer is so simplistic and a classic all around

Very smart to buy from an authorized dealer and pay the right price. Too many people buy used Rolex's from 'trusted sellers' to save money only to find out later on that what they bought isn't exactly what they got.

Rewatching this video. When I first watched this in 2020, I was just getting into watches and trying to pick my first Rolex. Here we are almost 2 years later, still waiting for my AD call haha.

I Think Rolex business model is very unpleasant. Allegedly limiting production on purpose to raise demand and prices, withholding warranty cards for watches that people have paid a smaller fortune for and in some instances deny people, who have the money, to buy their watches just because they don't happen to be special enough. I do not like that at all, but I am happy for you and your new watch :) Wear it in good health.

First when I visited three AD's here in Atlanta and inquired about Steel Rolex watches I was never treated poorly or rudely. They just politely told me what the situation was. All three had a different policy regarding wait lists. One flat out told me he didn't have a wait list at that time for any model GMT but did for the Explorer II. All three had different policies regarding deposits. Two requires deposits one didn't. I eventually got my GMT from the one that required no deposit or a list for the GMT. Why did I get one? I was flexible. They called and told me the had an estate sale 2011 GMT black they just had service and back from Rolex. It looks new, runs like new and has box and papers. But again never was I laughed at or shown the door. These people want to sell you a watch. I recommend working with a couple of ADs and tell them you are flexible you might get very lucky like I did. Just had to make this comment because two many of our KZfaq vlogers are misrepresenting Ads as a holes.

Congratulations. It is hard to find any steel sports Rolex models at an AD. Explorer1 is a great watch. None of the AD's here have any Steel Sports Rolex models.

Nice watch and review! Minor nit pick. Its the Rolex "Explorer"...there is no watch in their lineup called "Explorer 1" even though it makes sense based on the "Explorer II" model name. Enjoy the watch. Awesome piece.

I was at the Taipei Rolex store and they had an Explorer on sale as well. The only steel sports watch they had that didn't require waiting list or need to buy 2 watches from them. Really close to pulling the trigger but then I forget I still need to pick up a Speedmaster man on the moon and a seamaster chronograph.

From Australia: My AD said 1 month for Explorer 1's and Im not a VIP or anything like that. I know two people who picked up Explorer 1's from AD's like you with no waiting from Sydney and Melbourne AD's so I dont think they're that hard to get. Same for the Air King and Explorer 2's - one month wait max. 6-8 month wait would be for the No-Date Sub or specific DJ41's. Congratz on the pickup tho!

No wonder Bond seems so betrayed and depressed in the intro. You bought Rolex instead of Omega.

i did grab two Rolex's this year at my AD,Cant go wrong with an Explorer . These are good investments my experience was much faster here in the states ,in and out in 20 mins

Congrats and enjoy! But that whole experience seems too stressful to me, plus being told everything I already know by a salesperson. I'm glad I bought all my Rolex's via eBay, much more casual experience. And the most I ever paid was 84% of retail for my Z Blue. I think I would enjoy the AD experience if I bought a Lange or similar though.

I really enjoyed your video presentation. Your girlfriend did a really fine job of the filming inside the ad. You're lucky to have such a nice person as a significant other. You made a great choice selecting Rolex over the Tudor. The socalled "snowflake? design on the hour hand used by Tudor is a big mistake on their part. It is very ugly and doesn't go with the flow of the watch. Enjoy your purchase and wear it well.

It suits you! I just bought my first luxury watch. Op blue dial 41. Currently not home to size it but my wife picked it up from my AD. I cannot get home soon enough to put it in for the first time 😅

I got a much better paying job about half a year ago and I'm almost done paying off my last credit card. I am seriously considering investing in a Rolex in the next year or two once I've saved up some money. I know this sounds unrealistic, but I want my Rolex to be a black dated submariner.
