Interesting video and a massive response. I dont understand why the police - who were present early on - did not stop normal traffic from moving up/down the road where the building was on fire. Caused unnecessary obstruction to the arriving emergency services

Hello from the USA my question is why the police not blocking off traffic at the fire scene?

The police only attend it they can. The last Vehice before The police van is a bus converted to fire command use.

Do the drivers of the plain cars fit their emergency strobes themselves? They seem very random. 🤔

Yes, they’re generally volunteer or High Ranking firefighters, depends on where you are, but generally thy first them themselves.

@@EmergencyAndAviationAustraliaIn London there are no volunteers, only professional firefighters. These unmarked cars belong to middle ranking and senior LFB officers. They are leased ‘company’ cars, and are fitted with emergency lights and sirens, at the start of the contract, as part of the officers’ remuneration package.

HOW MANY CALLS EACH DAY

Some nice catches, but your aggressive zooming in and out makes this almost unwatchable for me.

What is the staffing on the pumps and ladders? It seems as though there is not a well command and control system. Having done several Multi Casualty Incidents in a large metropolitan area there is designation given to the responding units, both fire and EMS. They just keep piling in. Those ambulances would have a very hard time getting out if they had to. There should have been someone at the intersection, in contact with the Site Commander, telling the units where to go. I know these large events can be difficult and very hard to get a handle on. It might be at the other end but there is no sign of a mustering point for EMS to stage and not be trapped in.

Fastest bus in London though! A few weeks ago, I was down in London, and I saw one of these driving past; I put my hand out to hail it, and the driver just laughed at me well-mannerdly. He knew what I was getting at!
