BB-8 is the one that says "I have a bad feeling about this" in the movie, it happens in the start when Poe is about to attack the dreadnought and Poe responds to BB-8's beeps by saying "Positive beeps only!"

According to Rian Johnson the first beeps by BB-8 at the beginning of the movie are him saying, "I have a bad feeling about this" to Poe.

Apparently BB8 says, "I Have A Bad Feeling About This".

I feel like everyone is experiencing the Mandela Effect regarding Rey's parent reveal. Kylo never said who they were... he was just saying to her: (paraphrasing) "You know right? Go on... say it..." Then she IS the one who says "They were nobodies" - then Kylo just continues from her about the selling her for drinking money part - but the reveal didn't come from him - it came from her.

I thought that Phasma was going to take off the mask during her final scene.

Re: Kid at the end with the force, I think a big message repeated in TLJ was that anyone can be a hero (similar to the message of Bladerunner 2049) no matter what your background is. I think that's why it's important that Rey's parents really ARE just a couple of trash dealers that sold her for booze - it's that no matter your background, you can be a hero. Just like Rose was a background character ("just a mechanic" who is star-struck at meeting a "Resistance Hero") who goes on to become a hero in her own right. That kid at the end is supposed to be us playing with our luke skywalker action figure, watching and absorbing the star wars stories, being inspired by them, and knowing that no matter where we come from we can be heroes, too.

To me, Snoke now offers such a great opportunity for expansion and lore, and he doesn't have to effect what is now Rey and Kylo's story.

I think Phasma is this trilogy's Boba Fett. Awesome in the books & comics, but, totally under utilized in the movies.

I loved how they added the extra detail of the close up of Kylos shoe on the ground on Crait. I feel like it was meant to hint at Lukes force projection because Luke didn't make any footprints on the ground on Crait

Although I wasn't the biggest fan of the sequences on Canto Bight, I still feel that people have been misinterpreting and ignoring one of the intended messages of that ark. I don't think the main thematic focus was supposed to be about animal cruelty, rather it was an attempt to further blur of the lines between good and evil in Star Wars. I actually really enjoyed the scene on the way back to the Resistance fleet where Finn learns the previous owner of the ship they stole had sold weapons to both the First Order AND the Resistance. So while I DO NOT feel the sequence was very successful pacing wise, I thought it meshed fairly well with the moral themes that the new trilogy has been introducing: that the galaxy is not always black and white and there is a fair amount of gray area between and WITHIN the two sides.

Admiral Holdo - why would she tell the crew about her mission - maybe she thought there might be a spy on board? Maybe it shows that Poe is too impetuous still and cant be trusted...as demonstrated several times in the film (ie the first 10min).

I'm wondering is Phasma truly is dead. They made certain to tell us she was a survivor and where and from what her armor is made of. It's some fairly tough stuff. Maybe she comes back with a new eye.

I personally think that admiral holdo didn't tell anyone of her plan due to the fact that if any first order spy would find out that they were going to Crait they could have been ambushed

the end scene with the boy to me was a way of showing that no matter how badly the dark side i.e snoke, kylo.... wants to destroy the light side and try to control the force or it's corporeal application of it that the force itself will always awaken in new people and thus the force can truly never be controlled

I thought that Holdo didn't tell Poe about the plan to go to Crait because he was no longer in the need to know. He was freshly demoted, and as Holdo said, Impulsive, brash, and the last thing they needed at the time. The mission to Crait involved subtlety, stealth, and a cool head. Something Poe was showing he did not have.

Holdo was secretive about the plan because she and other in the high command who knew about the plan were afraid that someone from the inside was a double agent and worked for first order as they were able to track them down through light speed. That's why she didn't trust anyone with this information.

Most have caught that, when Finn gets the blanket for Rose, he pulls them out of a drawer that has the Jedi books in them. But earlier in the film, right before she gets into the Falcon’s escape pod to see Ben/Kylo, Rey is seen putting items into a drawer and closing it. I think that’s meant to be the time she’s stowing the books on the Falcon.

I think that the bombers were a stupid ideia, it would be a lot smarter If the resistance had a long range "bomb-launcher" instead of a slow poorly defended ship full of bombs that only drop vertically.

About Poe... You're supposed to relate to him and root for his mutiny and think his plan is the right one until you have it all revealed and if you think about it logically, why would Holdo tell this guy anything? She's a vice admiral. He just got a bunch of people killed and Leia demoted him. She made it very clear that he's acting incredibly wreckless and he is. He's Chaotic Good. He's in the way. Why should an Admiral listen to a low-ranking commander she doesn't know? I got what they were doing, and frankly, I was on Holdo's side. Why should she answer to a low ranking shit who just got dozens killed in an act of anger when they needed those bombers.

I actually loved Phasma in this movie. When she said "FN-2187, good to have you back," I got so excited. She just has this commanding, badass presence about her throughout her scenes. When the blaster bolt bounced off of Phasma's armor and then that staff extended I almost screamed in the theater. Finn and Phasma's fight was so epic. The line, "you will always be scum" gave me chills. She was one of my favorite parts of the movie honestly

Here's a better theory for the Knights of Ren: As the crawl stated, the first order started to put their hold on the galaxy, thus it is not unreasonable to think, like the Jedi generals during the clone wars, the Knights of Ren were the generals of their own legions of First Order Stormtroopers and during the time of The Last Jedi they're conquering unwilling planets and securing the hold of planets that wish to join their cause

Here's a theory. At the end of the film Rey is holding the broken lightsaber and you can see the crystal inside. In the next movie she has created the new lightsaber from that crystal using the books. The crystal though was damaged when the lightsaber broke and has become unstable. But obviously they wouldn't design her lightsaber to have the crossguard like kylo rens. So she creates a new style of staff lightsaber. Similar to Darth maul's double blade but because it's unstable it looks sharper due to it just being 2 exhaust ports that have been amplified.

It's a shame that people are rating this movie a 1 on imdb. I personally loves it but I can't see why people give a a 1. I get that people didn't like it but really anything in the 1 rating range is ridiculous.

As Kylo said “Let the past die” Most of the so called "Experts" are upset because practically everything old is put to rest. We've had nearly 40 years to enjoy the original trilogy. Its time for a new generation. New heroes, new rebels, new villains. For the first time ever, we're FREE from Lucas' story-telling by rhyming. For the first time in 40 years, no one but the director and writers will know whats going on. Im thankful for all the old adventures, and EXTREMELY excited for all the new ones to come.

How do you think JJ will establish Kylo as a legitimate big baddy in Episode 9 when so far he's been beat by pretty much everyone. Hit by Finn in the arm, beat by Rey, belittled by Snoke, fought to a draw / loss with Rey and then tricked and beaten by Luke. Poe disagreed with Holdo the whole time. It was Leia who convinced Poe it was a good plan. Poe had no idea Crait was out there.

I think Snoke's "You must wonder why I keep him around" speech to Ren is Rian Johnson's way of preparing the audience for the later change in dynamic. Johnson knew the audience would later be wondering, "Why does Ren keep him around?" The question is answered early in the movie. Snoke's speech is essentially "Proper Care and Feeding Of a Pet Hux."

A couple things: - Rian said the line “I have a bad feeling about this” is in the movie. If you look at the interaction between BB-8 and Poe at the beginning when they’re approaching the dreadnaught (BB says something, Poe says come on buddy positive thoughts and Leia adds I’m with the droid on this) it’s clear in context of the circumstances and what was said that BB-8 said the line. - I don’t think Holdo was being secretive about her plan. In the military discipline is paramount, especially in combat and survival situations, to ensure everyone does their jobs and they survive and hopefully win. Part of that discipline is you don’t question orders, you follow them. The last thing you need in these types of circumstances is everyone questioning or challenging you orders since it wastes precious time and undermines authority. It is the commander’s duty to devise a plan and see to its execution, and everyone else has a duty to do their part without delay. Poe was clearly insubordinate to Leia and was being insubordinate to Holdo and treated him accordingly. Stopping to explain to him would encourage further insubordination from him and the rest of the crew. His continued insubordination directly led to the First Order discovering through DJ the cloaked transports, which cost the resistance hundreds of lives. Also keep in mind how many lives and ships were lost at the beginning of the film when Poe refused to follow Leia’s orders. Poe’s choices throughout the film largely contributed to the decimation of the Resistance, and it all would have been avoided if he had simply done his job and followed his directions. This is a major part of Poe’s character arc, not just to be a leader but to understand discipline as a necessity for victory and saving lives rather than charging headlong into danger needlessly and getting more people killed.

I was extremely excited to see Kyle and Luke duke it out with their sabers. I LOVED Anakin and Obi Wan's fight, and was so ready for something equally extreme and fast-paced.

After I've seen it in the theatre yesterday I naturally went home and surfed through the internet to find articles and videos to geek out with fellow fans but everything was already full with fan outrage and new "Star Wars is dead"-declarations and silly reasoning for why this was bad and this should have been different. And why was I even surprised? That's basically how it is after every new Star Wars movie. I'm so sick of it! This isn't fun. Do you think Snoke was the mysterious thing Thrawn was warning of in the Unknown Regions? We thought it was Snoke, but now I'm not sure since he's not the powerful force we thought he'd be. And do you think "DJ" will appear in Episode IX? I was sure they'd reveal his name and it would have some meaning to Star Wars fans, but when they didn't and he did leave Fin and Rose to die I assumed we'd see him again

Luke was perfect for me. It showed he had a life between films. When i was younger Luke was my hero and i was a hopeful person. Had some hard things in life and made some bad choices and lost alot of that hopeful person i once was. It wasnt till i accepted what happen and found peace. Then I watched last jedi and found Luke went through a similar journey and it really stuck with me.

I know we all think Phasma is dead but wouldn't it be cool if she kept returning in each movie to harass Finn? You think she's gone but SURPRISE! Sort of like that crazy Swede in "Hell on Wheels." Every time you think you've done away with him, he comes back later to mess with you. I think that would be great to have an ongoing Phasma/Finn grudge play out like this over many films if only for a short time in each. Finn beats her every time, and you think she's dead but she comes back, meaner and more crazed with revenge each time... constantly upping Finn's game to keep her down.
