Thiem was a pure joy to watch. Extraordinary tennis, with none of the arrogance other players of his ilk demonstrate. Great player, great man

He would've had 3+ grand slams by now if he didn't lose form and get injured.

Thiem is such a satisfying and clean player to watch... The winner machine and dominant backhand, rare in ATP

When he was feeling it he could dictate play against anyone-so much power paired with speed and, at his best, finesse. I remember Andy Murray saying once that Thiem is a tennis players tennis player. High praise!

Hey its that guy they called the prince of clay who never even won a single big title on it.
@Eddie-xw8ik12 күн бұрын
Whilst it is true he never got a big title he was the 2nd best player in the world on clay reaching rg semis 4x in a row. Also he beat rafa on clay 4 years in a row. If not or Nadal he could have 2french open titles.

@@Eddie-xw8ik By that logic Djokovic should be the prince of clay, given that he has the most titles there after Nadal in the same era and beat him 8 times on the surface, twice at the French Open. He has 6 titles in Rome, 3 in Madrid and 2 in Monte Carlo with 3 at Roland Garros and 5 other smaller titles for a total of 19. As a matter of fact, he won his very first on clay in Amersfoort. He also beat Nadal 4 times in the finals of the Big clay court events and reached 7 FO finals. He reached the semis of the FO on 4 other occasions as well. Djokovic on clay is at 81.46. Thiem on clay is at 70.6%. Alcaraz is probably going to be the new prince of clay in the coming years.
@Eddie-xw8ik12 күн бұрын
@@Charismaniac but the whole point of the prince of clay is it is from the newer generation. I agree it's Alcaraz tho
@Charismaniac12 күн бұрын
@@Eddie-xw8ik Then before Thiem it should've been Zverev who won some big titles on clay as far back as 2017.

How did he not get a WC at Roland Garros? That was extremely disrespectful! 😡 Yet Roland Garros gave WC to Alize Lim 4 times where she lost all in the first round.
