After watching clarence squat for a while i finally realize how his mechanics keep his joints relatively safe. Whenever clarence gets to the bttom of his squat he rocks inward putting the weight right on the middle of his foot. On his concentric he always uses his hips abd glutes to get out of the whole( low bar mechanic) and when the bar is at about parallel he switches back to his knees and let his quads finish the rest of the lift. Many people stick to one style all the way down and all the way up but he has perfected this technique of highbar with a mix of low bar mechanics.
@pronghornllc2200
@pronghornllc2200 7 жыл бұрын
It's odd but obviously effective. I've taken note of this in the past, he has a personalized technique for that kind of depth. Olympic lifting coach Max Aita at Juggernaut Training suggests doing the opposite sequence, that is, to put weight on your toes at the bottom and use your quads to get out of the hole, and then let posterior chain complete the lift. Trial and error, we shall see

The faces people make watching Clarence lift are easily my favorite. His lifts are out of this world and I seriously think he's the best lifter every to exist. No one can lift like him. No one pauses or uses zero equipment with the weight he uses at his age. And I sincerely doubt anyone else will do what he's doing in my lifetime. It just doesn't exist any where else. I will always watch these lifts and admire. But the guy in the red shirt at 11:30 sums up my face watching a clean and jerk at 200 kg. That shit is so funny hahaha

@anabolicchad
@anabolicchad 7 жыл бұрын
The Pope different way to hit the lats and engages more core as well to be a more well rounded athlete. You have to realize that's what crossfitters are going for. Surely you wouldn't do push ups to get a big chest you'd go to a gym and hit 4-6 chest exercises to apply massive loads of stress to the muscle. But if you're trying to be the best you can be and be fit and athletic crossfit is the way to go
@JuggoJuggo
@JuggoJuggo 7 жыл бұрын
Bullshit, kipping pullups are ego lifting and flirting with injury. You will never see a boxer doing kipping pullups, never see and NFL player doing kipping pullups, never see NBA player doing kipping pullups, never seen an athlete do kipping pullups period. I do see them doing proper pullups all the time, get out of here with that crap. You want a full workout do a full workout.

andy pandy34 Clarence likely doesn't want to be seen as a freak. I remember when I decided to lift at home when my average weights seemed superhuman to the guys with lousy genetics. A 505x2 deadlift at 202 is not superhuman. In my wife's words:. "Why didn't you put that over your head," while in a regular gym I get stares. Really annoying.
