Amazin those new VW engines! With combination of low drag coeficient you have this result. I see golf 8 with this engine on flat road easily going 235kmh, thats number of last GTD wich is much powerfull!!

Yes welcome to Germany haha always nice here and it is known here that with 220 you sometimes have problems overtaking a Golf Plus haha but good car and good video ;)

it has a very good cd, this new octavia. Plus it has several aero improvements underside. Couple that with a different gearing and you get this result, higher top speed achievable. Not that it would matter, basically no one will drive with this car at 250kph, but the real impact is at 130-140kph where the drag will be lower than previous gen, hence lower fuel consumption, lower emissions, etc. Btw, that 250kph on the dash is more likely 235-240 real.

If this is a highway descending towards Dresden from Czech/Germany border, it is quite steep downhill actually, not little by any means. Was able to reach top speed of 235 with 2006 Civic 1.8 there. However, new Octavia has a very low drag and excellent aerodynamics in its class.

These euro 6 2.0tdi's put out more power than 150hp. Its more like 160hp which causes a higher top speed, but... this video is also downhill so top speed is probaly max 235 on a flat road.

a few days ago, we reach with our 2020 Octavia 2.0TDI 250kmh too at lightly downhill Autobahn easy. on flat road you can easy reach 235kmh.

Nice vid! Well ok 150 hp but I think you had some help because with our 152 hp 1.6 tdi 2014 Octavia, I once managed to hit 207 km/h on gps. 254 is the topspeed of a 250 hp car haha. But well done 👌

The actual top speed on a flat straight is ~223 km/h (~138.5 mph). Obviously, going downhill inflates the figure, just like reading the speedometer instead of measuring real speed.

Haha, 222 soll einen maximal Tempo sein, aber 6,7 Gänge sind so lustig and lang, dass du kann sonst so schnell fahren ohne Problem. Und Geräuschkulisse bei 250? Finde ich ziemlich gut, wie in einen BMW 3 F30 oder Audi A4 B9. :-) Schuldigung für meinen Deutsch :-))), bin aus Tschechien.

Speedo is off 10-15 km/h, so 240 in a steep downhill, so 225 - 230 on flat. Cheers.

@@muldix yeah makes sense. The road looks quite steep, so 240 is 12 more than advertised i guess. Makes sense. I think those engines have aprox 160 - 170 hp (acceleration and top speed wise). Cheers

@@ishkaranbrar313 No it cannot. True GPS speed is aprox 230-240 but certainly not close to to 260 kmh. I have a stage 1 bmw 530D E60 with 600 Nm and can go up to 260 kmh gps corrected at most.

@@jj-tq4hx i agree no way with just 150hp can it do 254kph. Must be remapped to 200hp and the gps speed was probably 240 kph or less. My 218hp 325d shows low 240s kph on GPS when the cars speedo is in the 250s. The autobhan is great. I have a fast unlimited section of 22km near me. But at 240 kph the 22km goes by very fast. And it takes a while to reach top speed.

the 250km/h are due to the little downhill, the digital speedometer is very accurate (at 130km/h on cluster the GPS speed is about 129km/h)

254 km/h angezeigt auf dem Tacho bedeutet nicht automatisch echte 254km/h. Ich tippe mal auf echte 235, auch nicht schlecht für nen Skoda Diesel. Kannst Du nicht mal aufm Handy GPS nebenbei laufen lassen und damit die Geschwindigkeit bestimmen? Gibt genug kostenlose Apps dazu.

Ano, série. Jde o to, že auto má maximální výkon právě ve 3000 otáčkách za minutu. A díky zpřevodování dokáže z motoru vytěžit maximum i ve vysokých rychlostech.

@@muldix čo s tým majú otáčky? Keby bol maximálny výkon pri 4000 a prevodovka drží motor v tých správnych otáčkach tak sme na tom istom. To isté pri benzínových motoroch. Je jedno v pri akých rpm dosahuje maximálny výkon, ide iba o to, aby sa motor držal tých správnych otáčok.

Denis Híveš není pravda, diesel má průběh výkonu mnohem přívětivější nízkým otáčkám, protože těží z točivého momentu. Pokud bude maximální výkon ve 4000, jak píšete a auto bude točit něco okolo toho, do výsledné dynamiky a schopnosti rozrážet okolní vítr už poměrově točivý moment motoru vstoupí daleko méně, než právě ve 3000 otáčkách. To znamená, že auto při takovémto nastavení dokáže vlastně z mála vytěžit mnohem víc...

@@muldix točivý moment motora nemá nič spoločné s maximálnou rýchlosťou. Ten sa totiž redukuje tými spomínanými dlhými prevodmi takže na kolesách sú úplne tie isté momenty ako pri motore, ktorý podáva max výkon pri napr. 4k rpm (a má menej Nm), pretože ten má pri danej rýchlosti a daných otáčkach výhodu v ľahšom prevode. Na maximálnu rýchlosť má vplyv hlavne výkon (krútiaci moment vôbec žiadny), odpor vzduchu, valivý odpor a samozrejme vhodne sprevodovaná prevodovka. Denis Híveš krásný odkaz, naprosto přesně však popisuje, co jsem psal výš. Podívejte se na graf průběhu výkonu a točiveho momentu u nove Octavie. Uvidíte, že právě v pásmu okolo 3000 otáček dosahují jak točivý moment tak výkon hodnot blízkých svého maxima, zatímco u starších dieselů se tato maxima ani vzdáleně nepotkávala...
