I actually do this with my DDJ-SB3 and VirtualDJ, it has the "stems" function that separates the various parts of the track to mashup on the fly

Virtual DJ has built in on the fly stems. You mentioned there is no software out that has this type of performance. Check out the new VDJ Let me know after you check it out.

I’ve been using this set up for a while now,, well not exactly LL’s set up but using the Algoriddim Djay Pro AI app hooked up to my Rane One.. The only thing I disagree on is using an iPad instead of an iPhone,, I prefer a larger screen but like LL, I have mapped my Rane so that I hardly need to touch my screen at all during a performance..

The ability to put tracks into a single playlist from multiple streaming services is pretty amazing! I'm going to check it out!

Virtual DJ also has stem separation on the fly and it works roughly the same. It's really the only thing that's stopping me from switching over to Denon's ecosystem.

I like the djay pro idea. But I would love to see the Waveform, moving Waveform and Library on the sc6000 Display from the App too. I think That should be the next step.

Try it with ableton link, it all syncs up wirelessly it’s fantastic and you don’t need to give up a 6000 to computer mode

Great app-even the free version. Luke did mention there were connectivity issues. You plug-in the USB adapter and sometimes it won’t be recognized by the phone. A couple of days ago the connection failed and it wouldn’t reconnect after trying different things. I love the fx feature as there different ways to apply them to the mix. My favorite thing about the app is it’s track organizer. It imports playlists from iTunes automatically.

I'm a big fan of djay ever since it first appeared 5 years ago. some things to keep in mind • only use the Apple branded Camera connection kit, cheap Chinese knock offs will give you trouble in the long run • use a powered USB hub, to safe the battery • the USB cables Luke is using are USB-A (male) to USB-B (male) cables • If you want to use djay iOS fully stand alone, use a cheap "class compliant" (=doesnt require drivers) USB audio interface to get separated stereo headphone (=cue) and stereo master output

Virtual DJ has been doing stem separation for some years, albeit on the PC / Mac, so it’s not new but a great addition to Djay Pro

I've been djing exclusively with my iPhone since 2016/2017. First, plugged in directly to the mixer, no controllers. After a while, you can't just be confortable without a controller, so I bought a Pioneer WeGo3. Then upgraded to WeGo4 (mainly because of the proprietary iOS port on WeGo3). Now I'm moving back to laptop-base setup, and I'll explain why: you WILL want to take pictures or shoot a video of yourself playing to post on social media. When you're using your phone, you would need someone or another camera to do that. Sometimes the venue might have a photographer, sometimes it might not. All the pics and vids I have of me djing on my iPhone+WeGo came from a friends' phone or camera. And sometimes they don't look good. So, my suggestion for those using controllers, after I being over 3 years on phone-based setup: use an iPad or laptop. Alternatively, you could also take another camera/phone with you and use your phone to dj with, or having a phone just for djing, but I'd prefer having an iPad instead of a phone for djing because of library view (bigger screen is much better). Also there are few controllers out there that work only with iPad, not iPhones.

This is great tech but they are not the only one doing this. Virtual DJ has had stem separation for a while and it's quite good.

Love to see Laidback Luke using this. Really very cool. Algoriddim is pushing the envelope for sure. I wish they would offer better skinning of their products as they still look a little amateur.

So DJay let you use every USB output if several connected, not only Mixtour output? I don't trust those for large systems.

So this works because the denon x1850 is class compliant and iOS recognizes it as an audio interface. What if you have an older DJ mixer - any recommendation for an audio interface that willlet you run 4 channels? I run the denon dnx1600 and it still works great - but iOS and Mac sierra and above wont recognize it anymore. Would appreciate any advice so I don’t have to brick a perfectly good mixer

I really like the possibilities! But I don’t trust my iPhone that much so I’ll just wait for another updates. Maybe engine os will have that neural mix in the future

I like the tech but In Australia we have a lot of ltt and broadband issues. Not many 5G towers. And at music festivals you can’t even call your friends. I’d like to do this in the future but not right now.

I am carrying my own 4G dongle all the time, that makes wifi. So I don't have to worry about those on premises wifi issue.

I recently tried this on my DDJ 1000 was blown away. If they release official mapping for DDJ-1000 Im never going to use rekordbox ever again

Given there are still people out there that claim on vinyl mixing is the only way... I am sure this new tech will go down with the purists. I for one welcome all the new technology gone are the days of carrying heavy records, then CD's now its all moving into a cloud - so you can carry in essence every song you could ever play. We are starting to see subscription services that include it so make it easier to find new records etc. FYI the cable is know as a USB Type A to B but yeah its still a printer cable of sorts :)

I am open to new Technology, but I'm skepical about using a phone for this. Especialy if you also need a dongle. Phones can overheat, run out of battery or just do other weird things. I also would never want to use wifi or cellular data to stream Music, because you share that connection with other users too, so espetially ata Festval cell towers & Wifi equipement might run at it's limits and become slow/unreliable...

The technologie possibility is great, but I would be more confortable using a dedicated phone instead of my regular phone, to avoid those change of parameter all the time. Kind of like a glorified USB drive. But if Denon could add that neural mixer technology directly into their player, that would be even greater and a deffinitive move forward ahead of Pioneer supremacy :)
