Those fuses look the same size as the standard 1" (25.4mm) fuses used in UK Mains plugs. 13A is a very standard value, 1A are rarer and normally have to be bought through distribution. As standard they are sand filled which is normally required for fuses in DMM's.

Yep - Agreed. They are standard household fuses in the UK (BS1362 plug top fuses), so only rated to 250V i believe? . Did you get the meter from the UK Tony? If so i think someone else has been in there before you :)

Hi Stephen, the meter is from NL, but he could have taken it from UK.. so its not sure.

@@Stephen_Heathcote They are probably still electrically safe at 600V volt, but say they are rated 250V (so it matches the 250V on the back of the plug) for Joe Public's benefit. Can you imagine the confusion if the fuses bought in the local shops had 600V on them!

I have the Tek DMM916. Great meter. Just got an Agilent 1241A today for a cheap price. Very quick meter and measures capacitance faster than the Tek, my Flukes and my Brymen meters. I need to stop, I must have 25 DMM’s, 6 VOM’s, 3 VTVM’s and 1 FETVOM. My wife asked why do you need another meter, I asked why do you need more shoes and jewelry 😝😝😝

5:34 ya al no hacer sonido la zonda al conectarla mal te deja como evidencie que el fusible está quemado. Hay una forma más fácil de probar el fusible sin desarmarlo, es colocar la punta negativa del tester en donde iría la zonda de 200mA y la roja o positiva en +V, luego se pone el multímetro en continuidad y se tocan ambas puntas, si suena el fusible está bien, si no suena el fusible está quemado. Esta prueba se hace con un único multímetro y también funciona para la zonda de 10Amperes. Lo que ocurre al hacer esto es que en lugar de cerrar el circuito entre orificio rojo y negro a través de las puntas, lo que se hace es cerrar el circuito a través del fusible, porque el amperímetro es un cortocrcuito. La corriente va de +V a través de la zonda roja, luego hacia la zonda negra, luego ingresa en +200mA, atraviesa el fusible y retorna a GND o COM haciendo que suene el pitido.

Hi Tony nice meter. Tek also bought Telequipment who made oscilloscopes. the Dmm 352 you show i'm sure is a Chinese built meter not made be Tek. I had the same meter branded IOSTEC years ago.

Thank you Simon! and that other yellow meter looks a lot like a fluke. there is so much around and so much copies or rebrands. This 155 seems a real Tek
