Aside from the eastonmade ultra, these rugged made splitters have to be the best bang for your buck splitters on the market. Always impressed by them!

I’d have to agree, my biggest issue with the ultra is the lack of a log lift, other than that it’s obviously a very well built fast splitter.

In the video you can see the six way lifting up when it splits, which means you have to pull the woods out of it each time to re set the level, that’s slow. You just need to keep pushing through and it not lift to get productivity. That’s why I re engineered mine

I agree. I prefer to split the questionable “is this still too big” pieces one more time.

I have this model and the blades. There is a big problem with the six way, the bottom horizontal blades are the wrong way up. This means that as you push logs through it lifts up, as more and more goes through it lifts further. The annoying solution is cut the off and reverse them. So the flat side of the bottom blade is on the bottom. I’ve also set them horizontal, and set back so the ram is splitting on one plane at a time. The original six way has the side blades set at the same offset, so it splits in two then four. So the power is halved...

Yep you’re definitely right, it hasn’t bothered me enough to justify the time to change it like you. I don’t really use the 6-way often enough.
