This song was popular & a #1 hit in 1964. I added the lyrics and guitar tabs and what year the albums were released.
Here's a link to my 32nd video of this song I made with the pitch lowered to -4.

Saw them in 1964 at the Kings Hall Stoke on Trent with my girlfriend, now my wife of 52 years. They announced this song as tribute to a band members daughter, it had just been released and we heard it then for the first time. Played live it was beautiful. (I'm 74.) DL .Staffordshire. UK

On this day in 1964 {May 1st} the Four Pennies performed "Juliet" on the British ITV network television program, 'Ready Steady Go!'.... At the time the song was at position #12 on the United Kingdom's Official Top 50 Singles chart, three weeks later it would peak at #1 {for 1 week} and it spent fifteen weeks on the Top 50... Between 1964 and 1966 the Blackburn quartet had six records on the U.K. Singles chart, with the above "Juliet" being their only Top 10 record... They had two Top 20 records, "I Found Out The Hard Way" {#14 in 1964} and "Until It's Time For You To Go" {#19 in 1965}...

The recording of the song is a half step higher than the actual sheet music so the chords in this video are technically correct as you say it's F but in reality it's F# or Gb then to Abm or G#m or as you say Gm.

no the recording is actually a half step lower from G major but yes it's f sharp or g flat but the progression both of your guys chord progressions are wrong.

We all know, (or should at least because we are passing judgement), the lads were told " to walk round"; - They most likely thought it stupid, but their "elders & betters" of T.V. land told them to do so. It was their 1st. record and a hit, different to ANYTHING of that time. I was in a trio back in the day playing a very big club and was asked if we could "run on stage" with guitars and start singing. I was the leader of the group, and said "No", we don't do that ! But that was just a big club and I was my/our own boss, had it been national television, I'm not sure what I would have said. Probably, to Harry and Eamon's horror, I would have said "No", but that's just me. I don't blame the lads at all. Pity they didn't go a lot further, they had the talent and ability! I'm just in the process of multitracking the harmonies and will sing it at karaoke this weekend. - A blast from the past, - and it will go down a bomb i'm sure!
