If you're a fan of boating on KZfaq you surely must know Nikki and Jason Wynn, ex-RVers turned global sailors. Now having a brand new boat built, they decided to take a little time out to visit Britain and have a go at narrowboating. So I sorted them a 10-day trip on the Llangollen Canal.

They had an old large RV one problem after another and just when things were going smooth a flat tire ! The lady never seemed to keen on it ! When they went to a catamaran totally different vibes ! As a Texas beekeeper I find myself thinking how fantastic it would be to have a few hives poised atop the narrow boat and pollinate the spectacular countryside.

FIRST!!! 😉 A HUGE thanks to David for helping to organize our trip entire trip including personalized taxi service, brown sauce education and the iconic Greggs. I still can't believe that we had the #KingOfTheCanals with us for our very first Narrowboat adventure. He was even more lovely in person and we can't wait for our next trip together. Jungle River Cruise? Navigating the Amazon? Canal du Midi? We're open to suggestions.

Absolutely Brilliant! I'm a Yank who once spent 60 days with my wife on the New York and Ontario canals and let me say I am so proud of your production. Oh how I wish we could have experienced this trip and you chose one of the best journeys to show them British canaling. This was just what this channel needed and as an American, so did I. This charismatic and gamely couple made it clear why narrow boating is so great. It allows you to continuously take in an abundance of interesting beauty, charm, and challenge at a pace your brain and senses can actually keep up with. "And no ducks were harmed in the making of this video."

I live just over the hill - if you want a decent cup of tea, pop in, or I'll meet you in the Cornmill. David, I love the contrast of styles, especially being able to watch the dual production styles. We're seeing perspectives of the Wynns that we don't usually get to see. Minor differences but such a human perspective added in. Handheld vs Newscaster. So much fun to watch.

I've been watching the Wynn's for years now. I used to watch several narrowboating channels (including this one) a couple of years ago. I remember mentioning to the Wynn's back then that they should try narrowboating and Nikki replied that she liked the idea. I'm glad they went for it and could obviously see that they enjoyed the heck out of it. Yours is probably the only one I continue to watch on occasion, including Vandemonium. It is obvious that you that have been in the news business and know your way around a camera are a pleasure to watch. I currently am watching @CaseyRoman (former TV news person) who does RV'ing and is now a realtor. She has the sassy attitude that I love. LOL .Keep up the good work, I love your stories.

Such a funny video. We (us British boaters) know what is involved and watching the Wynns video gives a very different feel. One of adventure and admiration to you. I’ve done the same trip on my parents boat and loved every moment but their enjoyment is clear. Your commentary is very complimentary but it’s all about the first time experience they were undertaking. Great video

David, you did an amazing job capturing the American perspective on narrowboating! What a fun, fun video! I was amazed that the hire company used a mock-up of an English lock, that's an absolutely brilliant tool to teach people how to use them. They didn't have those when I first hired 20-years ago! That was such a beautiful, brand spanking new hire boat that Jason and Nikki were lucky enough to get, sweet! I loved your comment about giving the hire boat a new paint job because most narrowboat owners definitely try to avoid (at all costs) any oncoming hire boats! We did too once we owned our boat, too many collisions with the inexperienced or drunk lads on stag party weekends! One suggestion to anyone planning a narrowboat trip, only use duffle bags for your luggage, there is absolutely no space on the boats for anything hard-sided!

Yeah, they had to bring those as since selling their boat they are literally taking all their possessions with them (including on aircraft so they need hard cases)
