Patrick and Stuart continue their countdown until Christmas with another special episode for the second Sunday of Advent in 2023. They continue decorating the chateau for the Christmas holiday season with trimming the large Christmas tree in their grand salon. They also visit local marchés de Noël (Christmas markets) and Patrick shows how to make your own Christmas tree topper.

Guys, I love these advent Sundays that you do. The tree and decorations are beautiful. I see many vintage and antique ornaments. My favorite is the long white one with the dove. I also love the other decorations. That wooden advent candle wreath with the star in the middle is beautiful. I used to go all out decorating, but every year, I find I do less now as I get older. I still bake, though. Our granddaughters love my gingerbread men cookies. Have a glass of cheer for me. Big hugs.❤

Hi there Peter. Thank you so much. I love the dove one as well. There is a bright and sparkling pine cone that I adore. ❤. The advent candle holder is from my parents. They don’t decorate much anymore. I wish they’d let me have my great-grandparents ornaments. They don’t even come for Christmas this year…. So I will celebrate by myself while Stuart is in the US with his family. Oh well. I have the doggies and will celebrate Christmas Day with Tony and Jane. Now I am thin,big about Gingerbread men……. Bravo! It all looks beautiful. It’s so wonderful collecting ornaments through the years and reflecting on those memories while decorating the tree. My five year old grandson made me an ornament in school and gave it to me yesterday. I have some of my children’s handmade ornaments from when they were young children interspersed on the tree and now my grandchildren’s also. They all have a story. Sending hugs and good cheer. xx

Loved this video. Patrick, you amaze me with your talents. So many decorations on your tree remind me of the ones we brought back from Munich when I lived there (1950's). We brought back glass bugles, pinecones, and bells. We also brought back tiny wooden ornaments of lumberjacks, rabbits, bakers, etc. So many memories of Germany. Stuart, your wood working skills are amazing as well.

Patrick, my mother had a fabulous collection of German, hand-blown, hand painted ornaments…I started collecting them when I was young and continued through my adulthood. I’ve had my mother’s collection since she passed 10 years ago. Every year when I decorate my tree, I go down memory lane. When you talked about your grandparents’ tree toppers being stored in your parents attic, I salivated. I can only imagine how gorgeous they are. I collect those as well - and use them in ornate candleholders. Your ornaments and decorations are just beautiful! Happy Advent! ✌🏼

Lovely tree!! I usually do several trees in my house as I love Christmas. A few times I have made a tree topper out of deer sheds (antlers they shed that I found in the woods). Those combined with ribbon etc are beautiful. Patrick, what I wouldn’t give to get in your parents attic to look for the tree topper for you. I collect Christmas ornaments ranging from the 19th century to the 1950’s. I would LOVE to see your family ornaments. Finally, I have been to the Christmas markets in Dresden and Berlin with my family. Magical is the only way I could describe it. I can’t wait to get back!

Your tree looks lovely, as do the rest of your decorations. I’m jealous! I can’t do much in the way of decorations with a bad knee and back. I teach paper crafting classes 4 times a month and those help me maintain some sense of sanity but I’d still love to decorate the whole house with what I make. So I can enjoy your decorations and live vicariously through you! Thanks for that!!
