Installing a Stunning Murano Glass Chandelier, CHATEAU RENOVATION - Journey to the Château, Ep. 156

In this week's episode, Patrick and Stuart finish hanging the original custom wallpaper (designed and illustrated by Stuart) in their chateau guest room that will be the first bed and breakfast suite. Patrick also repairs and restores an antique Murano Venetian glass chandelier (originally created for candles) that becomes the new light fixture in their guest room.

It looks like there may be a few of the tiniest pieces missing... the swinging little pink bells or flowers. If they took a sample with them to Murano they could most likely get a few reproduced to replace the missing ones. It is such a lovely little chandelier... complete with its own little glass flower arrangement!

I adore the wallpaper and the chandelier. Murano glass has/is making a huge resurgence in the US. Collectors are once again paying a premium and there's a new generation of collectors whom are helping prices increase. Love to all, gentlemen

I believe wall papering together is one of the best tests for any couple. It was very revealing to me and my ex - many many years ago. Watching you two wall paper together shows real teamwork and trust. The wall paper and paint colours complement each other so well. The room is exquisite. The chandelier is stunning!

The Murano chandelier adds a jewel-like sparkle to the room and the multi-colored florets add another element of color to add to the decor. I like the wallpaper more every time I see it. Even though red would seem a bold color, the pattern keeps it from being overwhelming. It's a nice balance for the woodwork.

You two make installing wallpaper, especially wallpaper with an intricate pattern, look so easy. I put up a solid color wallpaper this summer for a friend and I found that challenging in itself! I love Murano glass and I think the chandelier you chose has the right amount of whimsy to go with the wallpaper (not to mention the colors are perfect together). Now for the sewing, you two are so talented, you can write a whole dyi book for chateau renovations.

The Chandelier fits perfectly with the rest of the colours in the room, the colour goes so well. Still love the wallpaper. Just need a seat by the window to curl up with a book.

Thank you! The glass arms are solid because this is an old Murano chandelier created for candles. Only modern ones have hollow arms for electrics.

I loved the wallpaper when it first went up (Congratulations Stuart), and the more you put up, the better it looked. Brilliant! It co-ordinates so well with the paint colours too. Although I am a huge fan of glass and glassware, I too have been lukewarm about the use of Murano glass, but I am coming around when I see it blended beautifully in a room decorated such as this. Thank you for inspiring me.
