I used to hate my Dad growing up, now im in my 30's, i love my Dad so much. I grew up to learn some relationships just don't work out in the long run, if not MOST, and that's just the way it is. Edit: For you lot who find it hard to understand reading between the lines. My father was absent most when me and my siblings were kids. He would try and buy our time by buying us nice things to make up for it while he remained not around even to give us himself. He took the plane every minute to be with other women, he cheated on my Mom while she never did back to him. We had big house together as a family, he squandered it all over women and sex. Bank took the house, My grandfather gave my Dad a big piece of land for him and my Mom when they had me and got married. My little brother had to leave going private school to government, my mother only could afford for one of us to go so it was me. I remember few times seeing my mother in tears and worrying how we are going to survive the next day, some days she didnt even have lunch money for me to go to school. We started living in apartments for years, paying rent. So yea that's why i hated my Dad so much, i no longer hold a grudge still my other siblings does a little. Now if you don't know now you know.

This interview has had me anticipating each new part. Mr. Garland, after all these years, finally feels comfortable enough to tell his story. Props to Delray and Art for earning that trust. I'm not making any excuses for him. But I can only imagine how hard it was in those days to try and track someone down without resources. Him and his son, Tupac R.I.P., were robbed of the chance to have that father and son relationship that's so vital in a child's life. I really do feel for him. That anger and regret has to be a heavy load. Hope this interview can ease some of that and he gets vindicated for all the lies told on him. You are Tupac Shakur's father. Can't nobody take that from you! I hope he's looking down on you with a smile on his face. Peace!

2 of 3 black kids grow up in a single parent household, that’s not all on men. It can’t be, considering it’s consensual. Also, mothers are more likely to cause child abuse (2 to 1). I don’t believe gaslighting your child (psychological and emotional abuse) is included in that form of reported abuse. Gaslighting would be lying to your child and the father. We all know how childhood trauma impacts adulthood. That might have a huge cultural impact that’s not being talked about. Women mate, marry, and raise men (going back to the single parent household).

And she said she got the marriage annulled because Pac was facing lawsuits and/or cases. I think She contradicted her previous statements because in her previous staements she did not want Pac to look bad so i think she lied a bit in video interviews. @chan2009ify Absolutely. That Documentary was biased towards his relationship with Kidada too. She had zero to do with Pac and Affeni's relationship, yet her brother had to squeeze her in. It's because her money hungry ass brother QD3 is back to profiting off of Pac. He's made so many Pac docs and has used his likeness to pay his bills. The Jones' have made millions off of Pac's content and likeness. He literally BARELY KNEW THEM. He was only really dealing with Kidada since April, let her tell it. They met in February 96, started dating steadily in April/May. He died in September 96... Keisha meanwhile was in his life for over 2 years at that point. She's never made a damn dime off of her ex HUSBAND. She could've demanded HALF of his wealth, but didn't want anything. Yet she's always downplayed and erased from her own HUSBAND'S HISTORY. That's why I'll always defend her. She was THE ONLY TRUE PERSON IN PAC'S LIFE. HE LOVED HER DEARLY.

@DarkandlovelyLovely-ph3jt Yes. Pac was foul to all the women he dated in the 90s. He used to dog Kidada so badly. He made her stay in the hotel while he went and had a 3some. Then he brought a woman back to the same hotel as Kidada and slept with her without a condom on his bodyguard's bed. He also spent hours sleeping with one woman then slept with Kidada as soon as he returned to their room, basically minutes later. He was always sleeping with 100000000 women. He wasn't faithful to any of them at all. He had soooooo many in rotation, according to his bodyguards and was only playing with Kidada's mind. She knew he got around though, so did Keisha.

I find it interesting that Pac’s ex wife Keisha is rarely brought up when it comes to her contribution of holding him down during one of the toughest times in his life, but when she does get brought up, it’s usually to invalidate their relationship. As much as we all love Pac, even I can agree that he used her to a certain extent, which is sad because she don’t really bother nobody and has stayed relatively quiet over the years. Tbh I’m kinda glad she stays quiet and minds her business because when it comes to Pac’s life & legacy, they either act like she doesn’t exist or invalidate her existence by pointing out the fact that she was used as if Pac never loved her at all. Having to answer to that constantly would be so embarrassing. They did her dirty lowkey

Great, great, great interview!...I really do appreciate honesty and facts and the truth...long as he and tupac knew that's all that matters..so I'm happy for him that's he has that!..there is always two sides of the story...when I watch Dear Momma and I remember afeni sister saying that afeni lived with a lot of guilt. I can't help but to wonder if keeping tupac father away was part of that guilt...I wonder

WOW just when I thought we would never have another 2Pac! just to see 27yrs later it was a 2pac before a 2pac Billy Garland! From watching the interviews 2pac act just like his father! from his mannerisms and the way he talk his truth with passion and realness its almost Erie because I feel like 2pac is still alive but embodied in his father, they are that much alike. Its crazy!! and mind blowing! but great interview!! Mr Garland should write a Book or even do a movie or documentary or something to telling His-story! 2pac is still here with us in his 70's still alive and well! Thank you Art of Dialogue and 2pac father. This was an excellent interview and look forward to many more!

Not if your pops is a monster. You got daddies out here that don’t do shit but get drunk and be mad at the world. Not saying that’s the case with Pac and his pops or course. But if a parent is broken, a child or a relationship will not fix that at all

People have to also understand Tupac's mom wasn't always around, Tupac himself says he was sent to say with other panthers home n that his mom was in drugs when he was 16 / 17 so why n he said himself that his mom told him his dad was dead so Tupac said himself the same things his dad is saying
