You're on a rotating engine stand. Why wouldn't you rotate the cylinder to vertical so you can drop the rod straight in, guiding it from the bottom with your other hand?

it's pretty difficult to show the bottem end on camera with the engine in that position, I take it you don't do many videos

god forbid they just add a grove for an O ring to that bed plate..

In the video, you may be confusing some people who know nothing about engines. You describe the location of number one piston and start to explain the best ring compressor. Then, at 6:14, you actually install number 4 piston. At 6:45, you have spun the engine on the stand and are again referring to number one.

nope I think you are the one confused I installed the number 1 piston in the number 1 bore, you need to watch it closer

@@Myvintageiron7512 Yes, I do see now. It is the several camera angles and different rotations of the engine stand you used that I missed. By the way, I can't be confused about engines. I rebuilt my first one at 12 years old.(Chrysler 265 flathead 6)
