Hey guys, so for this match I played against one of my close friends Bianca who is around the same level as me. Each game was very close, and it was up to basically deuce every single time. I was really trying to focus in on footwork and aiming the ball to the corners, but I realized when I focus on one or the other I tend to forget what I'm focusing on and I end up not doing either of them. I can see some improvement on my footwork but I still stop moving subconsciously, even though I think I am while playing I can tell I'm not watching it back again. If there's any tips you have for me to help with anything you think I can improve on, please leave a comment down below! It means a lot, and it also helps. Thank you for watching!

I am a former club pro, and still work with a few of my players that are playing collegiately. I refrain from commenting on someone's tennis game, but you asked at the end so here we go lol: Love your dedication to getting better. That will serve you well. Having the want to puts you ahead of the game. Two things to consider: Play a practice match with your friend, again, but mark off an eight feet section in the middle of the court with poly spots. If either of you hit a ground stroke in the middle between the poly spots, you automatically lose the point. That will help you be more conscious of having a target on every shot. The only thing in tennis that is a definite is that if you hit the net, you lose the point. When at the baseline, don't worry about pace, but really brush up and hit with more height. This will eliminate the net errors, and help push your opponent back deep. Will lead to short balls which will allow you opportunities to put the ball away closer to the net and to your target. Really enjoy the content. Good luck to you!

thank you for the great advice! definately something to consider for my next practice match. this video is from 8 months ago, so I don’t know why KZfaq is just now spreading it around now lol, but since then I have gotten a bit better with pace & depth (as seen on my recent videos if you took a chance to check). I appreciate you taking the time to comment!

Great match. To improve footwork without having to think about it, please consider jumping rope 5-10 minutes per day to build calf/foot strength. That should allow you to get into position to hit the ball earlier and really set up your shot. You can never have enough leg strength or fast twitch muscle for tennis. Good luck and thank you for sharing!

Please don’t put the ball on the court when you’re playing. Can cause injury if you step on it
