3.47 (Former) World Record Clock Average! (ft. 2.97 OcR Single!)

Disclaimer (this isn't a world record, Niklas got 3.44 WR average an hour after I posted this - congrats to him on the new WR, got Keatoned)
Wow. What a day. I went into the day feeling great, doing tons of comp sims the night before with my brother and achieving solid averages. Controlling my nerves was the most important part, making sure my nerves didn’t get the better of me, and boy did it pay off. My second clock round of the year went very well, and I achieved a 3.80 OcR average in the morning, totally exceeding my expectations… then came clock finals.
I had no nerves going into clock finals thanks to the 3.80 average I set a few hours earlier, and I’m so happy I didn’t. First solve went great - 2.97 OcR single (sorry Richard), and the rest speaks for itself. Good turning, solid solving and a great reaction. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my success, and special thanks to Richard for always supporting me, THE LEWIS ROAD CREAMERY MILK (I drank a gulp before every solve) and my brother Esmond for being an awesome judge!!

I think Edwin has been struggling with nerves for a while. IIRC he mentioned that he did lots of comp sims with his brother yesterday which I figure helped.

@@oscarmcevoy90 yep, just don't pressure yourself too much. most of the nerves were gone after second round since i had already gotten the OcR average, so i didn't expect myself to improve on this further

this doesn't count as a world record anymore as niklas broke it on the same day, so it's an OcR. as for why its not on WCA, delegates still haven't uploaded it haha
