We've found 3 incredible experiments you can do with a mini Tesla coil! All from the safety of your desktop. Wait till you see the third experiment. I've done this episode all with one hand, which was very difficult, so a like or share is greatly appreciated. Still having issues with me looking sunburned upon uploading!
Last episode 'DIY 3v Tesla Coil': • DIY 3 volt tesla coil ...

We heavily encourage you to build along, however, we have applied for a patent for this design. This means you may not profit from, or sell, this design. Thank you! Do not run them more than 30 seconds at a time. You run the risk overheating your transistor/ destroying the circuit.

For extended use, 3 volts. But you can push 5 volts through it for 5 seconds at a time, with no damage. Don’t do much more than 5 second though, the little black transistor gets real hot and WILL break.

I've heard about someone coming in contact with a high DC voltage, and the high current through the muscles causing them to contract, and that forces their body to lurch suddenly, possibly hitting something so hard that they break a bone. I got shocked with the 250V B+ of a tube amplifier and I thought someone had pushed me from behind. But it was only my muscles. And I luckily didn't get hurt...

You have to be careful with the light bulb experiment though. If the bulbs walls fluoresce green, that means there's a vacuum in it and you're creating bremsstrahlung x-rays. It's particularly low energy x-rays, which means your body is absorbing most of it increasing your effective dose.

You could use a NE555 and build a variable Oscillator. At Pin 5 you can use the audio signal to interrupt it. The output of the NE555 goes to a Transistor (for example D1650) or any other high power NPN. The collector is connected to the primary of the tesla coil, the other end of the primary goes to +12V (or more) but be careful not to use more than 18V if you use the power line for the NE555 aswell. You can use separated Powersupplies tho (for the 555 and for the primary) if you have done that you should have something called Audio SSTC

Bone breaks smart (usually) No video? Triple x says if you didn't get it on video, it didn't happen. Wishing you a swift and uneventful recovery. How many resonant coils do you have? you Know each one does not draw down the power from the transmitter. You should be able to power up a lot of them and "daisy chain" a long series of them. RIght? can you step the power down to normal AC? and set up portable power in the back yard or campsite? (all on 3 volts, AMAZING PLASMA POWER) Party on Dude, stay classy. Set up a remote tea/coffee/espresso cart without power cords limiting location and tripping people (could prevent broken arms).

Great video, music was louder then ideal at 2:20 ish, (before that it was quieter/better) but could hear you just fine. Where you where asking us to listen to the radio - at that point the music was kinda drowning it out a little bit - I think I'd have muted it for that section. It didn't spoil it for me, just room for improvement. Made me wonder, if you has a musical coil, would the radio pick that up?

@chuckjohnson4750
@chuckjohnson4750 6 жыл бұрын
It's true that the signal strength goes down in proportion to the inverse square. But at the same time, signal strength goes down exponentially. - - - Both of these descriptions are true. An expression for the signal strength at distance D is D raised to the power of -2 (negative 2). So when the exponent is minus two, then it is correct to say "the signal strength goes down exponentially". - - - There is more math in heaven and Earth than is dreamt of in your philosophy.
