If you look closely in episode 3 when Felix comes into Evans' office, you'll see a framed photo of little Vera behind Evans's desk. This suggests that he is behind Vera being Follower, since it's his organization that created the game and built the headsets from the San-Ti spec.

I saw the same flaw with this plan and have been really confused. Sure, even if they were able bring Will back, I think it's very very unlikely that he would be able to spy and send information back to them. He would likely be a prisoner, he wouldn't have access to communication. Like you said, the risk far outweighs the reward. I'm sure something will come of the mission for the story's sake, but the reasoning for beginning it doesn't add up. Side note: Liam Cunningham is an amazing actor and his character, as much of an asshole as he is, has become my favorite. I've only really seen him in GoT so it's awesome to see him play this character. Great choice for the role.

The game is not made by the San-Ti. Its made by the evans cult, with all the infos they got on the alien planet. Only Sophon is directly from the San-Ti. The San-Ti could not have made the game, them not understanding metaphors.

I think the importance and persistence of sending a "probe" is the need for any intel on them. Wade is willing to risk it all because with the information they have on them they may as well just surrender since any strategy they come up with could be futile.

I don't think Saul outright cheated. I don't think he and Auggie are together anymore (even at the beginning). That's what their dynamic suggests. But it seems like there's a chance they could get back together. And Saul was really dumb to mess that up.

I dunno why Jin didn't realise that Will had gifted her the star. Presumably she'd forgotten that he'd suddenly become very rich. I suppose next episode Wade will persude Jin to submit to cold sleep so she can talk to Will when he's revived.

FYI - Saul and Auggie are NOT together. She wants to be, but he’s still too immature for her. In the first episode Jack asked if they are dating and sleeping together. Which they weren’t.

Hey James you missed the most important part of the episode the joke told by Ye to Saul. Was hoping for more insight into this as I assume she’s giving him some insight into the Santi and in a ‘joke’ form so they wouldn’t understand. Or maybe they did and that’s why they sent Tatiana to kill her?!

How would Will send information back to Earth?

The Santi would thrive on planet Earth. They are a much more survivable species than we are. I think it was at least 203 times they have been completely wiped out, over billions of years. Yet they are still in existence now. We have never been wiped out. We have zero experience in completely restarting our species.

If the San-Ti can't lie then they wouldn't have communicated "you are bugs" out to the world. If they don't think we're bugs but told us we are, that would be a lie.

I hate the way they changed the name to Santi. Its Trisolaran. It always will be.

The headset VR thing was made by humans, Evan’s and Vera’s mom which is why her daughter’s image is one of the characters. The Santi are 400 years away so they aren’t here to give us gifts but they have been giving Evan’s cult plans and details like the instant communication box. Remember we can do anything they can do or even surpass them with enough time. That’s why the only alien objects that are on earth or the 2 Sofan’s and why they are trying to disrupt our science and technology advancements. That’s how I understood it anyways 🤷‍♂️

Ye is absolutely dead, she’s not coming back in the future. Because the santi realizes that she knew something that they feared so that she couldn’t be alive (spoiler : dark forest theory)
