Having spent more than half of my life on a horse and cattle ranch, I learned very early on in childhood what a "spey blade" was, and some of my earliest memories are watching my grandpa and dad use the spey blade on their knives. Good times. And the Buck Bowie knife is a CLASSIC! That knife will never get old or go out of style. Whether you're an avid hunter and woodsman.. a tradesman or laborer who needs a good knife that can withstand alot of tough daily use and abuse on a jobsite..or just a person who enjoys weekend family camping trip..you cant go wrong with a Buck knife.

Knives are so underrated, I feel like most people should have atleast a couple laying around. I have a switch blade I use for everything, breaking down boxes, cleaning my nails, weed, and at the end of the day it’s a knife it’s great for self defense. Someone frank hassles you don’t boogie out, you got the upper hand with a knife in hand to hand combat.

Besides the other thing you mentioned, the second blade of the Case Trapper was also designed for scrapping the the fatty tissue away from inside the hides of fur bearing game once stretched out for tanning. Hence the name Trapper.

My grandfather always said the case knives were an example of "something simple being done to perfection". And I agree there is something about them that screams quality. The buck 119 is a favorite of mine but I always have the same image in my head. The typical guy who carries these probably had a 1911 for a trail gun and a brand new, freshly oiled, ruger American in whatever caliber the guy at the counter told him took down deer in one shot

That Buck 119 gives me some great memories. My dad passed this year and that knife I can just remember him walking around the camp with it making sticks for s’mores and getting kindling for the fire. Was the only fixed blade I ever saw him have an now my older brother has it and still as nice as the first day I saw it. I’m more obsessed with Kershaw now being that my dad gave me a Dimitry Sinkevich Atmos flipper that idk what it is about it but I just really love the flow of it. Blade into handle it’s just perfect
