The wiki has the point values for every item,but in general you can estimate it with resource rarity and processing steps. The more advanced and more complex something is, the more points it is. I build awesome sinks as overflows on all of my factories, so they passively generate points for me over time. Something like heavy modular frames, even making only 2-4 a minute, will fill a storage container in a few hours, and by the time im 2-3 factories along the line its contributing 10k+ points per minute. I do this on every factory and usually by the time I get to tiers 5/6 ive got tickets for days.

@@Dekoba good to know thanks! I’ve just started and on my fist play through, so it’s hard to plan to build for the future, as I’m not sure what to plan for at the minute. I’m hand crafting a lot of items as it’s quicker but, I know that’s a double edged sword that I need to get away from. I was thinking of starting again soon and minimising hand crafting when I know what’s useful.

@@Salubrious388 I think thats a good idea to minimize hand crafting. I try not to craft anything thats not available at the start of the game - ill hand craft iron plates, rods, screws, RIPS, and concrete to get my tier 1 factories up, but once I get those up and running I go grab a drink and thats enough of a buffer that I never hand craft again for the rest of the game (except things like power shards or equipment). Excited for the release of update 6 this morning!

If you press R (or hold R to bring up the picker wheel) while building almost any buildable, you'll switch the build mode. For most buildings like walls and foundations, you'll find that you can switch to "Zoop" mode, allowing you to build up to 10 of them in one direction at a time.

I was trying to focus more on the input/output ratio than the specific nodes being used. I skipped over black powder because it requires a tier 3 unlock (coal), and wanted to focus on things you could scan for before your first elevator.
