Full stop vs dynamic stability. Here is a blog from Sarah that tells about the difference. "What we want to remember is good things happen when we move forward. It enables us to get our body behind the ball. We move through our shots, which brings the ball down and allows you to get to the net. pickleball drillsOften players say they need to stop to hit the ball. Well, there is a difference between a full stop and dynamic stability. The reason you step to the ball is to create weight transfer. It is your stance that helps you move through the ball. If you focus on stopping to hit the ball, you often get stuck which will result in popping the ball up. At the other end of the spectrum, I find students charging the net at full speed. This is not necessary. I always want to be closing but I also always need three things so the player remains stable and ready: Paddle in front Ball in front Court in front"

The hard part of change is when you play, you are out there to practice your new shots/thought pattern and not hit the old comfortable loser shot (blasphemy for some). Keep track of your unforced errors not the score, low unforced errors you always are a winner regardless of the score.
@primetimepickleball

Yes, lowering errors is key, but adding new shots is what takes you to the next level.

Yes! I DO keep track of both unforced errors ( and pop ups ) vs my winner shots that I’m proud of. A plus-minus score .

Yes, I agree to not hit on the run, but when they ar hitting shots down the line or short corner shots, it’s hard to stop and get ‘into position’.

No one is able to hit every single shot in good position, but that is the goal. Strive to hit as many controlled shots as you can !

How do you hit an unattackable dink ? The group I play with can attack anytime a ball is knee high to waist high?
@primetimepickleball
@primetimepickleball 4 жыл бұрын
One important key to an unattackable dink is to force your opponent to hit up on the ball. So this means that their contact point will be much lower than net level. The truth is that the word “unattackable” cannot be taken literally. For instance, any ball can be “attacked” even if it’s probably not a smart shot. The more you can make your opponents hit UP on the ball and also make them MOVE to hit the ball, the better chances you will have winning the point.
