Such nice presentation of the cooking and the meal❤ khichari is my favorite. Whole moong soaked and sprouted tastes good by itself, in khichari, and as pesarat with ginger and mint chutney.

Can you speak to the use of olive oil instead of ghee in some portions of these recipes? What things to consider. At the start, while sauteeing spices and vegetables, I would use a better veg oil, then towards the end, before adding the water, I would use the oilive oil. Is this alternative ok and how does it compare to using ghee?

Hi, thanks for the helpful video. I see that millet comes in different forms such as husked and partially processed. What type do you recommend? Also I liked your pressure cooker and found one like it on Amazon. My question is, does the aluminum cause any health concerns from toxicity? Thanks in advance!

Enjoy😉 Pressure cooker: A harmful device Maharishi Vagbhat says that do not consume the food which is cooked in the absence of sunlight and air. If we simplify this sutra what he actually means to say is do not consume food that is cooked in a pressure cooker. There is no provision in the pressure cooker to let the outside air get in, only the inside air goes out from the pressure cooker. Also it lacks the technology to let the sunlight get inside it. Maharishi says that the food which we cook inside the pressure cooker is like a slow poison and hence should not be consumed. To confirm this I met two scientists of CDRI (Central Drug Research Institute) and asked their opinion. They also confirmed that the food cooked in a pressure cooker is not healthy. Most of the pressure cookers are made of the metal aluminium and research has proved that this aluminum is the worst metal to cook or store food. The scientists confirmed that after a study on the aluminium metal for about 18 years they can conclude that if a person consumes such food he has chances of developing diseases like diabetes, arthritis, asthma, tuberculosis etc. They also confirmed that they have detected 48 diseases which are caused only by consuming the pressure cooked food! The two scientists did their research in the jails where the food is served in the aluminium plates. The research result showed that the immune system of the prisoners was very low because of continuous exposure to this aluminium. To take the research further I asked the two scientists since when this metal aluminium is in use, because this is not a very old metal. The answer came out that the metal was 100 to 125 years old. This means that the British scientists introduced the metal in India. The first notification that came from the British government was to use this metal for the jail prisoners as they wanted to kill the freedom fighters of India and hence used aluminium; which acted as a slow poison! The agony is that even after independence our jails still use this metal for the prisoners. And now it has even entered our household and the poor population uses this metal in larger quantity. This is one of the reasons why the economically weaker section of the country faces diseases like TB more than anyone else. Similarly, other devices equally harmful are the Refrigerator and microwave oven. Just like the pressure cooker, the refrigerator and a microwave oven do not have the provision to let the air or sunlight get inside it. This means that in the past years whatever devices or appliances our technology has given us are actually causing health hazards and as per Vagbhat’s sutra we should not cook food in those appliances as they act as a slow poison.
