In this Jazz drum lesson, I share a 3 easy Jazz drum exercises. These are drum flow exercises that will make your drumming a lot smoother. Drumming flow is being able to move easily between your drum grooves and drum fills.
This is an essential drumming skill in Jazz and other styles of playing. Whether you're a beginner or advanced drummer, these Jazz drum exercises will help you get more flow on the drums.

Thanks so much! Last night I was at a jam session, happy I could be there but unhappy with my playing. Without a warm-up and sitting on a drumkit 5x better than mine, in a really small club, with the pro house drummer listening 10 ft. away... quite intimidating. I felt stiff between playing straight time and having quasi-melodic fluidity around the kit. There's much to be said about what one may do between time and fills, and your video has inspired me to practice this afternoon. Cheers!

Joe thank you always for your wonderfully positive comments! I try to put stuff up here that can be used in playing situations. After all as you know, practicing exercises for exercise sake doesn’t always help on the bandstand. Gotta be useful in the real world. Keep swinging my friend🤙
