You know I really wonder who the people are that are giving these videos thumbs down. I have used these videos to teach myself “how to swim” after a back surgery. I honestly could not swim 20 feet to save my life. TI swim videos have taken me from a guy who fought the water and made me into a true swimmer who can go 2 miles non stop. I watch these videos over and over because I like to constantly remind myself of each aspect so I don’t get cocky thinking “I gots this” Thanks!

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. I learned to swim when I was approximately 57 years old. I’m 64 years old now and still trying to improve. I will always want to improve. It is work and fun that I love.

12“ below surface! I always saw it on free style teaching demo but no one mentioned it being important until this video. I have #1 and #3 imprinted already from daily practice. I will try 12” below tomorrow! Thank you!

I didn’t quite understand point 3 but point 2 MASSIVELY has improved my swimming technique, glide and overall endurance. Previously my arms were always extended at the waters surface, not 12” below as I do now! Thank you

I approve of this video. So many videos on here teaching the wrong thing. (I'm a swimming teacher) The easiest to fix is the head position. So I'm glad they covered that first.

Wow. This was an eye-opener. I practiced and practiced on breathing, but was still always out of breath. I did not have correct form until I watched and practiced this teaching on this video! Now I can swim longer without being so out of breath. Thank you!

I have always been struggling with my freestyle and last week I saw someone did this graceful freestyle at the beach, and I was so jealous. I've been watching swimming techniques videos and found this to be the best one! Simple and clear tips, and just the answer I've been looking for. Thanks coach Shinji!

Two things I learnt from this video - extend hand 12" below surface and to lean forward - both these I put into practise and immediately I shaved off almost 2 strokes from a 25m lap. Feel so much more streamlined now..thanks!!

Mr. Takeuchi, I learned the basics of freestyle by watchning Your and Terry's videos and implementing the techniques in them. I started with not being able to swim freestyle 5 meters, now I complete 1-2,5K sessions, albeit that is with drills (with the help of fins, center snorkel, pull buoy) included, so it isn't a continous distance. I do not swim TI (I'm not that good), it's a choppier freestyle I do currently but it works. What is Your recommendation, swim more unbroken distances or spend more time doing short intervals and drills, focusing on technique?

I could swim 50 mtrs in breast stroke but hardly 15-20 mtrs with free style before learning two beat kick. But now after learning this technique from Shinji I am able to do 50 mtrs lap easily. The two beat kick takes almost 50% less energy than the usual flutter kick. Thanks you very much for your videos.
