I’m in Dr Kennedy’s class. For 2 and a half years I was 90% housebound. After my first appt with Dr Kennedy, I am able to go outside everyday for about 40 mins, I even added in a jog. She is amazing! I highly recommend her 😊

I love the connections between Covid and my symptoms. Mind/body illness. Yes it was scary. Lockdowns ,mandatory masks ,created lots of fear. We had daily death counts online by State and by Countries. Very hyper vigilant. It was real. 7 million deaths. None of my doctors made this connection. Thank you so much. 🙏

I can appreciate that therapies like Pacing one's energy and emotional output can be helpful. Positivity and honesty in communication all sound good. However, for some people it needs to be acknowledged that the physiological issues are often equally important, otherwise diet, paced exercise, supplements would not help, and they do for many people. The doctor mentioned the micro blood-clots, mitochondrial issues etc. All the bio labs experimenting with these pathogens need to be frequently audited with full transparency! Let's acknowledge those facts too!

@jackjones3657 Thanks for your comment! I agree that different people need different modalities in order to recover. Paced exercise/graded exposure is a very important piece of this mind-body model. Although I think it's healthy long-term to eat an organic, whole foods diet, there's no evidence I've seen that diet is a cause of Long Covid. On a personal note, I took hundreds of supplements at great expense over 13 years and they didn't help me recover from ME/CFS. But if they help you or someone else, that's terrific! We all find and share the way that works for us.

@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach

@josie-gr1yl Thanks Josie! Ehlers Danlos does not limit progress! I've had clients and students who recovered from Long Covid, even with EDS. The EDS doesn't go away but the chronic pain, fatigue and other symptoms can resolve. Lots of people have hypermobile joints but don't have pain (or Long Covid), like babies for instance!

This doesn't make sense, I had long covid for nearly 2years then got better. I had another viral infection in March and now I'm ill again. I was doing meditation and breathing exercises every night and was really enjoying feeling better and now I'm ill again, I don't have anxiety or depression.

@janejenkins5137 I'm so sorry for your suffering. It can be a hard concept to comprehend. I also got symptoms after viruses, which can trigger the brain into a danger response. It's great that you're doing meditation and breathing exercises. Have you studied the mind-body knowledge? That can make a big difference. thanks for this great talk! I struggle a bit with dealing appropriately with the physical abnormalities. I sometimes get weak, heavy legs. If I think of it as a danger signal blocking my legs which are actually fine and full of energy, I'm kind of okay with it. But if I role in the possibility of damaged mitochondria, meaning that there actually is something wrong with my body and I do not have "enough energy", it totally scares me and holds me back because I'm afraid of "overdoing". Also, how does this apply then for people with book cures who can expand super fast. Do the mitochondria regenerate that fast? Any tip on wrapping my head around it would be highly appreciated!
@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach
@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach 25 күн бұрын
@acissej_01 You're so welcome! I understand the challenge of dealing with physical symptoms. But with mind-body symptoms, physical damage is not causing the symptoms. The brain and nervous system create symptoms when they "perceive" danger. So it's important to focus on the things that give you a sense of safety and hope, not ideals that scare your brain! I had to stop subscribing to theories about mitochondria, viruses and other issues in order to recover. If the mitochrondria were the root cause, people would not have a book cure as you so astutely suggest! You might enjoy this blog and video on my healing story. Wishing you well! www.rebeccatolin.com/blog/chronic-fatigue-syndrome-crash-to-cure-story

I wonder what Dr. Kennedy thinks about nicotine patches? I have LC with a history of ME and am starting to feel better using a mind body approach. Nicotine patches have also made a difference but I sometimes wonder whether this could be triggering for my brain when it sees me trying to 'fix' myself.

@DottieBengo Excellent work! That's wonderful that you're starting to feel better with the mind-body approach, a sign you're on the right path! As we feel better and more resourced, we're usually able to reduce or eliminate the coping strategies that helped us before. You'll know if/when it's time for that.
