Hmm. I appreciate your videos. I’ve watched others in the past. I have an older daughter from a different father. However, my husband and I are infertile together. We have adopted our youngest daughter from birth. I can’t say I love one daughter more than the other. In fact, I fought so hard for our youngest daughter that I appreciate the struggle of fighting for her for 18 months more than the 9 month pregnancy of my first child. I love them the same amount, just in unique ways. Biological or not biological doesn’t make a difference in love and protecting, caring, nurturing, and parenting. In fact, this time parenting with a coparent is so much more calm and rewarding because I have a father who is by my side to raise our youngest daughter in her younger years. I can see how just not wanting to go through a pregnancy for the first time or again could be a very selfish reason for adopting. I can see how dealing with the “loss” of infertility could complicate an adoption with expectations. Perhaps your video is generalizing these categories. I’ll give you that. I just want other adoptive mamas and daddies to know that it’s absolutely likely they will love their biological child and non biological just as greatly! So don’t stop an adoption in progress just because you’re fearful your love will change. It won’t. It only gets stronger. ❤

Just found your videos and me and my wife are in the process of adopting two teen girls here in the US. We have let God guide us and agree this space has very little if any faith. The self examination is super important and can be challenging if your doing it right. A second video to this could be "why you should adopt".

I am against adoption unless it's adoption among blood family members. The reason being is every child that have requested their adoption records once they are grown said they did not like their adoptive parents. They also told me that they want to find their birth parents, so if you want to adopt make sure the child is your blood relative. It's delusional to believe adoption will complete your selfish people pleasing family. God is not the author of confusion so we know God will never want to see a child separated from the birth mother. READ your Bible, repent for your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ then you want fill empty anymore thinking adoption will fix your life.

@@SB-vr2bc That is a lot of assumptions. We are not empty, and we believe that there are many types of "families" even if it's not blood. A adoptive child has loss, pain, and confusion. We want to walk with the child in there pain, guide them, and protect them. This is what we are all called to do for each other, we just chose to do it for the most valuable. If our kid wants to reunite we will be there by there said and if appropriate, expanded our family with theirs.

Intresting video but I stopped right away after you gave the 3 reasons. You should really redo the title. It really is misleading. Truth is, my wife and I are in the process now, AND yes we want to save a child, but not how you say it. We want to bring love into the lives of kids, siblings, and show them that there is love for all out there, and with that they can be kids, and be taught how to be productive members of society one day. That’s saving kids, and sharing love. Huge difference…..

My husband and i have been dealing with infertility for years now and are considering adoption. Ideally a sibling set who needs a family. I've always wanted a family but never really looked forward to the newborn phase haha. Honestly we've tried to get pregnant because it was the cheapest option to grow our family, but Ivf is expensive man 😅

Just found your channel and I love the acknowledgment and nuance perspective you bring to the complexities of fostering/adoption; as well as the feelings we need as parents for these kids

Thank you for this video and your insight. I feel that your ideas could be better explained, in that these three reasons should not be the ONLY reason why people adopt children, and that adoption involves a lot more than an ‘I want a child’ mentality.

Soo spot on! Why something like this isn't mandatory *complete* viewing with psychology tests before all adoptions is odd to me..

I don’t know about all adoptions, but fosters parents go through a psychological evaluation/interview, financial interview, home inspections, background checks, fingerprinting, etc. if they had a crazy outburst somewhere in their past it’d likely be found by medical records, psych records, arrest records, or during the psych eval itself. I don’t know how private adopt works personally but I have friends who went that route a few decades ago and said it seemed harder than getting top secret clearance.

ALL parents should be vetted before they're allowed to have children & have access to children NOT just adopted parent's 🙄 let's just be clear about that.

I agree, with her. When we get in our feelings and fail to realize that not everything can be fixed, then we can live out best life. Adoption is a billion dollar industry or modern day trafficking business. There are so many bloody hands including the adoption agencies.

Also found out I would not have to report it as income because its considered an reimbursement according to the irs and if yo chose to keep the child 59 days you can file them as a dependent

Important to ackowledge that there are egg, sperm and embryo donor/adoptions now. A birthing parent is not necessarily biologically related to the child anymore!
